"THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/07/2007 08:37:06 By Billy
My Stag Brothers

Glad to be back involved with all the "chatter" again. I have had some health problems and death in the family.

I have been giving some thought of not having the the "DOOZIE" next year because of the Stag Reunion. I think the Reunion should take precedence. It would be great to have more of our Brothers there.

When adding up the cost of the fishing tournament, it was a lot of money for our Brothers to be spending and then turn around sixty days later and have the expense of the Reunion.

The golf tournament, I guess could go on for those of you that don't have a problem with the money aspect. It will be cut back to one day though. I need your input on the golf tournament. I know some of you have something to prove. If you don't, you should!!!!!!!!!

Please contact me with any suggestion you might have. See Stag Brothers for my numbers.

Lets give Herb and Gaston a big turnout for the BBQ.

This could and should be great fun and can only get better over the years.

Billy, I will be at the BBQ and looking forward to meeting you. I will try to make it to the next Doozie with all you guys. Sorry to hear about your loss and health problems.

See you soon.

Billy:
The reunion is so close to the Doozie time and there is golf on Saturday before, why not combine the events next year?

I know that makes it 'different' than a separate venue etc but the reunion is not every year and this could replace it easily... more participation would happen as well.

I will be there regardless - reunion venue or separate event. I am never going to miss the Doozie as long as I am able... You are right, money is an issue when traveling is involved but I am winning the lottery this Saturday so it will not be a concern.

Billy, Tim has a good point.
If you did do the Doozi in Miami on Saturday then that would rule out fishing unless you could choose between one or the other. In 2004 I think that's what Counts did for their Reunion. It would be hard to do both then go to a party all night. Not even the "Don" could do that.
It would be fun to do both but as you implied it may be hard to get many to join in. Lets see what everyone has to say. If you need any help let me know (phone tree/emails).

Terry, isn't that funny. The "War Bird" guys are a wild group. They are the "Bikers" of General Aviation. From Bob Hoover on down. Off and on over the last 25 years I've had the opportunity to spend some time with them. They are a throw back from the past. Remind me to tell you what their requirements are at an AirShow.

Glad to see "Cary Grant " is back in form (starting crap) and yes I am looking forward to giving you a swift kick in the old buttock....and ...having a few laughs.

Miss Vicki sent me that email....She was impressed, as I'm sure Dawn was too. They would make a wild pair. Lou Stebbins and Vic already do.

Look forward to seeing you two.

What has happen to all the Miami Boys with YOUR comments.....

John, Garcia, Gaston??????

No comments from Yero PLEASE. IT WOULD TAKE TWO DAYS TO READ ALL OF THEM.... You are not part of the Miami Groupie....UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO PLAY GOLF AND KEEP SCORE.....Teeing up in the fairway is not allowed....hitting balls into the woods , out of bounds cost you strokes.........if you have any questions please see the airplane picture I sent you......you will get my gest.

Steve(Aggie) I'm waiting on you also.

Come on Boys I need to know what you think???????

My suggestion next year is to have it with the Reunion.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK.....???????????

Billy:
If I did not write all this wonderful stuff you would have nothing to do or think about thats worth anything...How much thinking does it take anyway to plan your next golf or drink shot?

Bye the way, I have quit golf forever again (almost)... hope you can play till your knees buckle and your ankles fall off... then we will again play together but you will not be allowed to ride in a cart (against the rules)... so, you no cart even though you have an injury... and me no tees because of my injury... I'd say that would be almost even ... I'll hit them off the ground and you walk the whole course... we'll see who wins that one! (Bring yer money!)

Billy: USGA Rules:

As noted in the Miscellaneous Section of the Modification to the Rules of Golf for Golfers with Disabilities, there are many golfers who have physical limitations that may result in some degree of disability and that may have a significant impact on their ability to play.
A player is not considered to be in breach of the USGA Rules of Golf for using a device if:

• he establishes, with the local Committee, that he currently has a medical condition identified on the List associated with the particular device, and

• the local Committee determines that the player would not gain an undue advantage over other players in that competition by using the device.

• the device could be permitted as an exception to Rule 14-3 and refers the ultimate decision to the local Committee (e.g., tournament committee or golf club).

In my case, the 'device' is a tee used only at points where my disability would not permit me to otherwise hit a shot without causing permanent and/or severe injury. You would be The 'Local" committee (if I deem you as such which I have)... if you as the committee do not except my condition obviously the I cannot 'officially' compete...

As for me, I'd like to play anyway, you can forget what I score (like last time) and we'll continue to have several more beers... If you prefer I do not play at all, I'll play with someone else or take up fishin'.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/10/2007 08:41:48 By Herb Stebbins(68)
Tim, being away from golf for almost 40 years I have forgotten most of the rules. I am planning on getting back in the game. I can see why the USGA Rules would lend themselves to helping golfers like you and Billy, that suffer from physical pain and discomfort brought about by injury. I'm just courious, are these modifications to the rules only germane to physical disabilities?

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/10/2007 09:15:17 By Adams
Tiny Tim

The committee has agreed to let you use a device that will give all players relief....A BRACE FOR YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!.

Tee that up my little friend.....

Take care see you soon at "The Miami Pig".

Herb

Lets just say they are "FITTING" to Tim and leave it at that.

I know no one else who uses those rules except Tiny Tim.....and he gives "Tee it up boys" a whole new meaning.

Speaking for myself. I'm injured and not hurt...maybe a little brain is a little disabled, but Candy Butt rules like Tim quoted don't apply to the "Doozie".

Will there be only one golf game or two scheduled. Will the doozi be a seperate event only for certain past players?

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/12/2007 10:35:51 By Adams
Mr Golf

The "Doozie" will only be one event.

The "Doosie" will always be a Stag function for all Brothers. Guest will always be welcome as long as their is room. Golfers(144)max.

Bets and special side deals can be made by onyone. We hope all our past players will be involved....,but it's not just for them. It's for all our Brothers and friends as long as I have a say.

Fishing:
I know the rules of fishing... in golf, no tee in the fairway, in fishing, no hooks on the floor of the boat.

The biggest fish I ever caught was a 3 1/2 foot Barracuda (no lie) - caught it with a kite, bait fluttering on the top of the water... it somehow goes along with my personality.

I am buying a 'fishing' shirt - anyone have suggestions on the best color? PS 'Fishing shirt':
Why is there a flap in the back? Someone said it is for ventilation; I thought it was so you had something to catch the hook onto on your back if you were casting wrong - sort of an 'on the job training' tool.

I'm proud of you Timmy.....You wouldn't let me get to you with all of my BS........All in good fun my boy...thanks for reminding us about the Cart Girls...my favorite, Candy Boy.

I must say you are persistent with your demand about the golf tee deal.......

The Golf Committee had voted and decided if you were allowed to tee it up every place it would give you an unfair advantage. Therefore, your request(demand) is denied and we reserve the right to discriminate against you and all new comers. We also reserve the right to harass, drink, eat and almost anything else to ensure we all have a good time at the "Doozie".

While we are on this subject of fun and good times.....Please don't take anything we say to heart. We enjoy ribbing each other. I know that in the past there have been a few people(especially from North Carolina) that thought we were serious and mean spirited....none of what we do or say is meant to offend or harm anyone.....it's all just having fun and the ones that making these statements know it's just having fun.....

Please understand we are just being kids at heart again...and ...some of us will never grow up..............I HOPE....It's great to have those memories. lots of old friends and Brothers to share them with...and....... We will always remember the ones that are missing.

Tiny Tim, we will work something out on your tee thing.......you may not like though .....

Fishing shirt.. ...If it's the flap in the back I'm thinking of, it comes from a sailor's uniform to catch the grease and tar that drips off their head.
I must be really old, or the world is running out of resources. Mullet is/are BAIT. Of course shrimp make good bait also.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/13/2007 03:31:18 By Tim Yero
O.K. I Got it:
1. Use no tees in the fairway which makes it impossible for me to play golf - that is NOT an unfair advantage - it is because you are afraid;
I'll beat you regardless because I'm better with one arm than you guys are with two...

2. Buy a black fishing shirt because I look especially good in black and/or will passout from the heat and not be able to fish;

3. Eat some fishing bait with the Brothers because they like that better than really good stuff (like quacamoli or something like that)... it seems just like old times...and I would not trade it for the world!

(My Mama told me it is a cruel world after all!)... Just remember gentlemen, I am a trained and decorated infantry ambush 'artist'... whatever comes around etc. When you least expect it, it shall come back to haunt you!!!

PS Does anyone know where I might find a black fishing shirt - the only fishing shirts I saw were sissy sherbet colors (Yes, I was in the men's section).

Ha, Ha, LOL Tim TDT65

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/13/2007 10:40:52 By Steve Aguilar
Billy,
As I mentioned to you on the phone, I am supposed to be attending a family reunion with my moms British side of the family in Manchester, England the same weekend as the Stags reunion. I believe the 13th of July is the actual day of the main fiesta. I am trying to work out the details so as to be able to attend both but I do not know if it will be possible. I really want to see all the Stags brothers in the worst way. I wonder if I flew out of Miami at the crack of dawn on the 13th what time I would arrive in England and if I could get to Manchester in time.

I want to put Gaston, John and Manny on notice that I bought a new driver, and no longer slice off the tee. It's almost always down the middle in the short grass, and I'm hitting it longer than ever. Unfortunately my putting still leaves a lot to be desired. My pitching and chipping also needs improvement, but I'm working on it. I just know that the next Doozie's outcome, regardless of where or when it's played , will be the young old guys (the elders or masters as they are affectionately known by their legions of fans) whipping the peepee out of the old young guys (the whiners or whuppersnappers take your pick).

As for Mr. Tees in the fairway, the next thing is he will want to lay down on the green and putt with a pool cue in the prone position. Get real will ya!!!!!!! This is golf. The number one rule of golf , the very foundation of the game, is except when in the teebox, to play the ball it as it lies. A simple concept really, and one which needs to be firmly grasped by all players, lest the veracity of their scorekeeping be brought into question. No foot mashie and no tees except in the tee box.

Oh well, I am delighted the first salvo's have been fired and that we have a place to vent since the golf thread was so ignobly terminated. Bring it on.
Mucho amore!
Steve Aguilar

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/14/2007 12:27:22 By Herb Stebbins(68)
Steve, it would be hard for you to get to Manchester at a reasonable hour if you left Miami or Ft. Lauderdale on the 13th. Most airlines fly to London Heathrow. You do the math. Flight time during the summer(normal routing) 7:30...5:00 hour time change...1:30 to clear Customs and Imagration and get a cab...3:00 cab ride if the weather and traffic are good. I may be wrong but I don't think any of the airlines in Miami fly directly to Manchester.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/14/2007 12:42:07 By Tim Yero
Herb:
Steve is going by boat; he hates to fly.

Hey Steve, why not get the Brit's to visit here instead... some of them play golf (afterall, they invented the stinkin game) and we can invite them to play... perhaps a 'semi-links' course like Key Biscayne would suit them well...and perhaps some fish and chips at Arthur Treachers after...

Steve, good to hear from you....but the BOYS are ready and playing at least once a week in three different courses and all doing well....we have been having good turnouts from the 66 to 72 years all looking to kick your Kentduckies and St.woosies ass....love you ...you would be surprised to hear that I will be a force to deal with.... ask John or Manny if you think I 'm b sing you....

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/14/2007 10:11:41 By Steve Aguilar
My beloved brother Gaston,

Good to hear from you too. I would not at all be surprised to hear that you are a force to be reconed with. For a guy who took up the game so recently, you can really hit the ball very cleanly, and have a real nice stroke. That being said, you are severly hampered by two things. The first is lack of head to head tournament experience, and the second and far worse is your hot headed companions and all their whining.. To truly improve your game, you must learn the art of being calm, even following a badly mishit shot. It's terribly hard to concentrate and focus when your compadres only want to fold the tent and run back to Miami.

I hope I can make it to the reunion so that I can see you you and all the brothers,, and we can all play some more golf together. As my Corsican brothers say, Salute a tu te, vichente ane miss you very much. Mucho amore!
Tu hermano,
Esteban

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/14/2007 10:46:50 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Steve , I'am probably the most calm of all the Hot Heads , since I really don't know the game well enough to get mad...as we play every week I find myself enjoying the game more and more ...To see the other guys flip out over a bad shot or so... Last week and you can ask John , Manny and Arturo, I had one of those days when all went well on 16 holes all my drives were right down the middle of the fairways and all my shots from the traps were pga perfect... when ever I'm lucky enough to out drive manny or John , you can only imagine what goes thru my mind without showing the excitement...John , Manny, Arturo Lorenzo ,Frankie ,Pete and Rolando have been great help to me the past few months and they are truely great friends in pointing out ways to make my game better...their encouragement towards my doing better has been outstanding...great to hear from you and look forward to the next time we see each other.....say Hi to Barb for me....

I feel bad that I did not return your call. It's only because I've been struggling with the dilema of the British family reunion, and the Stags reunion happening almost slmultaneously, and I've have not been willing to comimt to either of these important events The old stork with his head in the sand sindrome
.
What time of day or night would it be in Englad when I arrived there, if I left Miami at the crack of dawn on the thirteenth? Any idea how long it would take to get to Manchester from London? What if I could catch a red eye Saturday night and leave directly from the reunion party? I firmly believe where there's a will, there's a way. Please help me figure it out. Do you know any crackerjack travel consultants who could adsise if it's even possible? I would really very much appreciate any guidance you could offer.

Hey Jerry,

I need more than Fly Jefferson Airplane Gets you there on time. Just kidding buckbean, but I NEED TO KNOW are you and Janey planning to go to the Stags reunion?

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/15/2007 05:50:56 By Herb Stebbins(68)
Steve, please refer to my post dated 8/14/07. All the times are there. To make it easy just figure from the time you take off from Miami, you will be in Manchester 17 hours later. You loose 5 hours do to the time change.
Call a local travel agent(they all use the same computer information) to check on flight information. Don't hold me to this but I believe 3 airlines fly directly to LHR out of Miami. American, Virgin and British Airways.
This far in advance, any information might be a bit vague.
Even if you could get a 6am departure (which is highly unlikely) you would arrive in Manchester at 11pm the same day.

Steve:
Why not come down a couple of days early (like on Wednesday or Thursday) - Stay with Billy for a few days or weeks, play some golf, attend the reunion on Friday night and leave sometime Saturday or Sunday... plenty of time to get to have dinner with the Queen or whomever.

I for one would be o.k. with counting whatever your score is to count for Saturday's round (with whatever adjustments Billy decides - as long as it is upward and as long as there is a witness other than Billy - and must be someone who is playing Saturday as well)...!!!

Please note all your side bets must be paid upfront in advance and one round of drinks from the cart girl should also be funded in advance. We'll all pitch in and give you $4 for a drink on the plane.

I too hope Jerry is coming to the reunion. From what I heard and is bringing Janey... even if he does not come I know we all would like Janey to come anyway. We all like talking with her better anyway.

From the ads I have seen, "golf is 'free' for life if you buy in the Villages (could be an omen)...

It's a good to take lessons upfront to get the idea of the swing and what you are supposed to be doing. It's a good thing the golf is free for life -it'll take at least that long (and maybe longer) and you will never get it all right(maybe, never but 's the challenge of the game)!

I think whomever it was that invented the game of golf (Some Scotish guy) had to be a comic or a sadest (Most likely combination of the two). Too much Drambouie or Chivas...

if its free for life . I'm moving to the Villages.......

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/17/2007 09:53:47 By Tim Yero
Gaston:
The Villages is a very controlled community (what they call deed restricted). It's extremely large and populated community next to Leesburg... You must ask when to poo before you poo (Sort of like a giant commune of people from the 60's).

It does have several courses (Including a Arnold Palmer and Nancy Lopez)... When you buy a home you must join the community stuff (or they shoot you) and all golf is included (as well as tennis and other stuff).

I never played there and probably won't unless Jim actually moves there and invites me... if they'll let me in. My view - it's way too crowded and I would tend to hit people with errant shots. They'd sue me ...

Tim TDT65

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/17/2007 12:59:51 By Jim Kavney
Yes, the Villages has those pesky restrictions, like you have the to be 55 or older to own property there. No children under 19 can live there. They can't visit more then 30 days a year. You can't put ornamental thing in your front yard like bird bath, shrines to gods or saints, you know all the cute junk you see in neighborhoods. They are so strict they won't even let you jack up your old car and put it on blocks for a couple of years, while you're getting around to fixing it up. No boats or motor homes either, even it you cover them with a blue tarp. If, your yard is not cut, they cut for you and are kind enough to send you the bill. I'm going to hate giving up all that freedom.

But, on the other hand, if I can keep busy, I won't have to think about it. Every Thursday they have a section in the paper of 30 to 40 pages giving the activities for the next week. Each village has its own Recreation Center with a pool and games. They have over 700 clubs in the Villages, you name it they have it. All types of classes and the Life College. They have a four diamond slow pitch softball league with over 50 teams. At the two Village squares they have live entertainment from 5 to 9 PM, 365 days a year. They have people that get the exercise by dancing every night, they have a two for one Happy Hour from 5 to 7. At the regional Recreation Centers they have tennis courts, pickle ball courts, Olympic size pools, all types of in door activities. Oh, yes they do have a little golf, over 35 executive courses, 7 pro courses. Golf cart roads all over the place, I don't think I'm going to have time to worry about all those pesky restrictions.

Jim

Sounds like you could possibly gain some weight with no work to do. Lounge around all day, fiddle fartin around trying to decide which event to attend... while someone does everything for you...

No boats because there ain't no water (good idea).
There are some lakes but they are crowded and mostly not accessible or private... some even may have a little water in them, but not much!)...

But what about snake hunting? Got snakes? You could not possibly give that up? (If you do, I can send you some to play with ... I've got plenty here!).

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/17/2007 04:13:42 By Adams
Gaston, they don't allow Cubans in that place, so forget it.

Tim, they don't allow people to use tees in the fairways or the rough, so forget it.

Jim , what on earth are you going to do about your snakes???????.......By the way whats the population of that place anyway....and.... will they let PSL Red Necks in.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/17/2007 05:43:00 By Jim Kavney
At this point I keep zero snakes and as far as snake hunting, well that reduced to two 7 day trips to Costa Rica. I take small groups (8) on a seven day trip hunting snakes and other reptiles. I've been doing it for seven years. We catch them photograph them and let them go. Kind of like bird watcher, only we are a little more involved, up close and personal. That I have no plans of giving up, way to much fun.

Billy, there's about 65,000 living there and growing every day. All necks are welcome.

Injay, your dad right there're a ton of people living there that graduated from Gables. I was up there 3 or 4 weeks ago, we when out the celebrate an anniversary and out of eight, six when to Gables, one from Edison and the other ??
We have three Stags living there Ed Harrison '54, Anne Jensen Harper '56 and Courtney McClendon '61.
The nice thing about the place is everyone is putting around in their golf carts with a smile on their faces.

Guys, where is this place called the Villages?

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/18/2007 06:05:53 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Billy , all should be welcomed at the Doozie...the more exposure the better, all clubs should be allowed to participate in the event .....

Billy, I agree it would be nice to have the Doozie open to others.

David, you can get info on The Villages by go to: http://thevillages.com/

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/18/2007 08:56:34 By Steve Aguilar
Billy,
I've heard rumors that the golf carts at the Villages rather than providing tees like other courses, are equipped with those skinny cigarettes we heard so much about. back in the 60's ,70's, 80's, and 90's. Could that account for those shit eating grins. If so count (oh damn I've said that bad word) me in. I'd much rather hang out and play golf and bumper carts with a bunch of happy smiling people, than try and act proper with a bunch of stick in the muds . By the way speaking of stick in the muds, have you heard anything from the Whuppersnappers? Like when they will be available to take their annual thrashing?

I have a joke for you all that I thought was cute.

A golfer was leaving the clubhouse heading to the first tee with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the boulevard near the course.

A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind. Following the second hearse was a solitary man walking a pit bull on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men with various golf clubs over their shoulders.

The golfer couldn't stand his curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said, "I am so sorry for your loss. I know now is a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

"My wife's."

"What happened to her?"

The man replied, " My new driver arrived in the mail, and I was practicing my golf swing in the living room near the china cabinet. My wife who was baking in the kitchen, walked in , freaked out,and hit me with a rolling pin. My dog then attacked and killed her."

"Well, who is in the second hearse?"

The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her too."

A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed between the two men.

"Can I borrow the dog?"

"Get in line."

Much Love,
Steve Aguilar

Aggie, That joke isn't exactly cute ! I know the feeling though, sort of. Are you talking about Mama Tia ? Not exactly skinny, was she ? I'm still working on July '08. I'll let you know as soon as possible ! The VPC was always the needed one anywho!!!

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/18/2007 10:23:55 By Steve Aguilar
Dear Jerry,

What is the VPC. You lost me. I do not know if I will be able to make the reunion myself, (it is looking doubtful at the moment) as I'm supposed to be in England the same weekend.. That truly sucks, but I have no control over the timing of either event, and will disapoint somebody either way. Please call me when you can. Hope all is well. Would you be available for a brief visit in TN around the second weekend of Sept. I have to be in Brevard , NC at Mom and Dads that weekend and if at all possible would like to see you on the same trip. Hope we can work it out. Please give my regards to Janie or is it Janey. You think I'd know. Please advise.
Much Love,
Bucko

PS
Tim Yero keeps sending me these weird pictures of naked, grotesquely fat, horridly obese women. Any idea why????????? I know he is weird, but what's up with that. Are you getting any of these Email's from him or am I just the unlucky one. Please let him know for me that I do not share his proclivity for females with monstrous excesses of fat and flesh, and that not being a chubby chaser like him, I delete these horrid images the minute I see them. This behavior, coupled with reports of him teeing the ball in the fairway leads me to believe the boy is truly bent !!!!!
Your thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.

Steve

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/19/2007 01:41:27 By Jerry
No, Steve, not fat women, but wierd emails none the less. The teeing up in the fairway shows he is truly bent. Or maybe he's just showing off that he can still bend over ! I don't know who they found on the Turnpike. Sure wasn't me ! I'm far from bald Billy !

Billy, I had the opportunity today to play with the 68 Brothers and we feel it would be a good thing to include other groups in the Doozie..... We all have great friends who were not Stags in Counts....The Brothers of Counts invited me to their reunion and I was honored to be there,,,,most of those guys came out of So.Miami Jr High and Ponce de leon ...we all have a lot in common ...so why not....I would also like to include the Brothers from Chinks and friends from Athenians that are always playing with us every week......

"THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/20/2007 08:05:16 By Tim Yero
OK got it...:
Steve - You are off my 'cool circle of friends person list' for now. I have added Jerry to take your place because he is sicker than I am.

So, I will not be send you anymore of the hilarious jokes (I'll send Herb 2 copies because he likes most of them). If you did not enjoy some of them you could have responded as such.

Most enjoy the humor which I receive from other 'outsiders'. You should also promise not to post any more of your boring and lousy ones on the site.

Also, This is for the Doozie bunch to know I won't be using a 'tee in the fairway' anymore. It is purely to be able to be in the company of you guys sharing good times and laughs. I am unable to physically play without using it at times, so I won't be attending nor playing golf with you guys anymore. I have other friends who could care less and are there for the same reason - enjoyment.

Hopefully you all can physically play and enjoy your golf as long as you want - I am not able to and there has been too much of a big deal made of it - I am not a big deal type guy, so that will be the end of this big deal story.

PS From now on - I will only play you guys for money - USGA rules and handicap. Good luck.

LOL Tim TDT65

Thanks Jerry, glade to see you still love me....You made me miss TN by hearing all those wonderful accolades .....That a boy.

Tiny Tim you candy A.. Pick up your toys and go home. You don't want to play anymore. Did we hurt your little feelings.......and don't be sending those disgusting emails to my golf partner anymore....I'm afraid you might rub off on him. "WHIMP"

Take your "Tees" and shove them...........Hope you have a big dog in your yard. We will be seeing you soon. You have a butt whipping coming from all of us......Candy Boy.........

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/20/2007 09:07:07 By Tim Yero
Tees for sale - highest bidder:
I have several dozens of unused golf tees / various lengths (up to 3" which is the average limit for attributes for you guys)...

They come in a variety of colors (mostly yellow cause I do not use yellow - it's a coward color, some of you may like those) and they can be re-used if you do not break them ( but you would actually have to find them after you hit your shot - which for the those of you that can't see more than 2 feet will be helpful)...

These tees are guaranteed to work anywhere - including the hard pan fairway and/or long rough.

I was going to shove them as suggested but need the money to anty up my next golf bets. Let the whoopin' begin (bring yer scissors!)...

Ha. Ha.

Gaston

We would like to keep the "Doozie" and my neighborhood in tact......You 67-68 guys are to young and rowdy. We can't afford baby sitters....

After careful thought, some of us feel that we made an exception by allowing the three of you (John, Manny and yourself) from the "class of 68" to play in the first place. There was four reasons for you three being selected 1. Manny could supply drugs. 2. Gaston could cook. We thought. 3. John cold furnish transportation for all and it would be easy to keep an eye, on just the three of you. The other reason is with out you three, Tiny Tim and I would have been teeing the ball up in the rough and fairway by ourselves and Steve would be Bitching, instead of Manny.

We prefer, to only allow class of 66 and below to attend the "Doozie", because all the other classes above us were Thugs and Gangsters or should I say Mr. Thugs and Mr Gangsters. I'm curious....where did you guys get the clubs and balls you play with and do you actually pay to play the golf course??????....and you want all of the other thugs from where, what and who????????????Why don't I just call the local police department and get an invatation list???

Ah, what a great country we live in.....I would be killed in Russia. Maybe in Miami also.

Have a nice day.

Brother Billy

Thanks Brother Herb:
I just got off the phone with my golfing and fishing professional and mentor and famous Stags Brother (Herb Stebbins). He has convinced me I should not let you cyberbully's deter my passionate love of the game nor the enjoyment I shall have by beating you all on the course - he convinced me I am way too good to give it up and I should continue to play golf.

So, the decision is in - I will play (If I am still above ground) ... and I will be abiding by Herb's professional opinion which is: I can use a tee anytime I feel like it and you all can kiss my butt. (watch out for lingering tees in butt)...

From now on Herb is taking the lead on all the rule making as the 'Local' committee Chairman and will be making all the rules from now on (Simply because I like his rules better).

Herb, kiss off.....what do you know about golf anyway....I know you don't even own clubs...you have tunnel vision....theres not enough instruments in a golf cart to help you..You need an engineer, co-polit and a few stews to help you make around a course...and...a few UFO'S...Thats' STRAY BALLS FROM TIM...Herb,Tim's already on a hit list...care to join him.....I know all you have is a dumb bird and cats.......and your way to slow to grab your gun???????maybe you have some tees from Candy Boy.

Fellow Doozians:
We all have fellowships and friends outside of the Stag organization but I think the Doozie should be kept as a function among just ourselves.

I do not think we should invite any outsiders on the golf course that could turn this into something not wanted. Billy has set the precedence for first class fun function; closed to all but the Brotherhood and family of Stags.
I am for keeping the Doozie that type of function.
Private and Stags only.

Someone pass me a tee?

Tim, there is an annual fishing tournament that was set up for George Portela (deseased) class of (73)open to all, its been very succesful , with people from all groups...never a problem since they know why its being held ....to honor the memory of George......The Doozie ,we all know it was establish to Honor the deceased Stags Brothers....any and all participating know why its being held and will honor and respect The Stags-TDT memorial Golf Tournament as well....

Doozie participants:
Re above: David Steger is an exceptional person, deemed a Stags Brother recently by the majority and the only exception I know of regarding playing in the Doozie if he ever wants to. (and of course, any Stags family members including sponsors etc). --- Maybe Mark Redwine could be an exception if Billy wants to buy him new clubs, provide room and board, wipe his butt and pay for all his food, drinks.

Billy: Herb is not a golfer, a pretty stinky fisherman from his own words and can hardly fly a plane from what I've seen... thats why he makes an excellent rules maker! You can take Herb off your 'hit list' and make me the only one on it -
I enjoy the notoriety of being the only one on the list... no complaints here!

Tim, in an earlier post ...Billy mentions on 8-18-07 about others being involved...he says let me know?????? so I did ....Kavney , seconds the Idea....John , Manny and I also feel it would be good, plus other future participants that we have been talking to since the last Doozie....I think we will have a better turnout and it would be good for the tournament....the tournament idea was born in January 2007 during a lunch we had at a golf course ( Billy, Steve, John, Manny and I)...Billy, you are the Founder so you call it YES or No?????????? we should not pick and choose who or not ..its either all or none....Gastonnnnnnnnn

Tim,
I do not mind being taken off the cool list, and transferred to the uncool list as I've enjoyed life on both sides of the aisle and have got to old to care. Especially if all it takes to get you to retire is one lightweight joke to Jerry, made only stir up some verbal action and see who else had recieved the picture of the hefty lefty Kentucky girl with the beer bottle hanging from her navel, which I thought was histerical. GO Zona Buck up buddy. It's a cruel world. You hurt the one's you love. But please, whatever you choose to do, do not take anything I write on this site at face value. It , like everything I write was meant to put a smile on someone's face. I was not trying to "Out" you All my comments are made strictly in fun you sick human being. Keep em coming, or not as you see fit. It will not change my opinion of you one iota.

By the way did you know that before tees came into popular use, small piles of sand
were used to elevate the ball increasing the golfer's chance of getting it airborne. So a man of your immense golfing talent should have no problen hitting it so it lands on, or in the immediate vicinity of the ant hills found every where down there. This would solve the
tee in the fairway issue.

PS Sorry you do not like my boring jokes.
Much Love,
Steve Aguilar

I'm really wondering which part of "Kiss my Grits" TimY did not understand. And the T-Ball tee is self explanatory. Now, why Steve has been switched from list to list; I haven't a clue. Now why Steve won't check his @#$&&*#$@@ email is beyond my acceptance. Even for a old FLA-STA-U fellow.

"THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/21/2007 01:30:11 By Tim Yero
Dear Steve: Guru of All Yucca History (and master of other astounding information):

Ditto on the joking and not taking it seriously - what fun would the truth be anyway? In other words, I lied - I am increasing the emails I send you and Billy so that you feel special (Although I have not received any new emails to forward lately).... This is the true tradition of being who we are... congenial jokers.

I think being thin skinned is devestating to having fun and can negatively effect friendships so the only thing I now take seriously is my bank statement (which is not very time consumming at this point). Oh, Herb is serious so I take him serious too (Sure you do, Tim<< Ha Ha...)

Regarding hitting the ball to a sand hill:
If I was anywhere within 50 yards of being accurate I would attempt to land on every one of those in the fairway just to make you happy.(Except in Pt St Lucie where the "sand hills" were unavoidable every 4" on the greens)! BUT, if I was that good I would be on tour and not have time for all this chatter!

The convenience of taking a tee out of my pocket will have to remain my best source - I will play off any ant hill though - they are fun! - As long as I can swing freely I can play - I cannot risk taking any divots, through tough rough or hit off hard pan; that would destroy the few nerves I have left in my left arm.

How's your back doin? Mine sucks...(That's another story!)

I vote we open the Stags Memorial up to all our friends, but lets go about this slowly.......We will need some limits to begin with. Just until we learn how handle a large group properly.....and...... I certainly could use some help each year....

Billy, I think by opening the door to the event it will allow not just the Brothers , but those who were friends growing up together appreciate the meaning of Brotherhood and Childhood friendships... Just because we were divided by association to other groups it does not mean we did not care about each other....High School was three short years and there was life before and after....and now here we stand in our old life , doing things or relating to those previous and after years and can laugh and BS without any problems...lets do it and enjoy all that comes with it...we are to old to fight and to wise to let thing get in our ways....enjoy the time we have and lets make the most of it.....

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/22/2007 08:31:28 By Tim Yero
Opening the Doozie:
If this is a debate open to vote of the group, I am representing keeping it closed. We already have some exceptions and managing the integrity of the intent of this event will become more difficult if we continue to add outsiders (Friends or not).

I am not against having friends but think anyone other than Stags (with very few exception) will not revere the purpose as we do - 'our' private and most meaningful reason for getting together as Brothers.

Although it is fun it is not like fishing and it is not a celebration. Our thoughts are with those no longer with us, and no one else feels what we feel. That feeling is what is more important than having a bunch of outsiders (whether they fit in or not) add to the 'fun'.

I think we should play golf and have all the fun ourselves as we did before - together as Brothers, laugh, joke, drink and eat, and use tees in the fairways... just like our Brothers would want us to ... then remember them with our solemn moments, private thoughts and tears. No one else would be able to participate to this degree.

LOL Tim TDT65

We all have been concerned about you and holding our breath... the time is now to tell us how you are doing with the bees and the bats... what's the story? Are they gone, went and came back, what?

You can't go on keeping us on edge like this!

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/22/2007 05:22:55 By Adams
Tim

Let me first address the issue of opening up the Stags Memorial Golf Tournament to our friends.

The "intent" of the "Doozie" was and is to honor our Brothers that have passed away. While doing this the "intent" was and still is to have some fun when honoring them, as they would want us too. Without a doubt...I know for a fact that the Brothers that I knew would want us to have a great party with friends and families...and... My Brother that is my "intent".

The "Reverence" can never be lost as long as we remember our Brothers. I'm sure that many of our friends will remember their own, as well as some of our lost Brothers and Sisters. We can make this a great gathering of friends and families and love ....This is about the very heart and sole of Brotherhood....

A "Celebration". You bet it's a "Celebration", its a "Celebration" of life and death of our Brothers.

My Brother, we are not less of a Brother or man because other people see us having private thoughts and weeping for our missing. We want the whole world to know how much we miss our beloved departed. I would feel comfort in having the extra support of friends. I'm sure that the loss of their Brothers or Sisters would bring as much sorrow and pain as our own...... We would be there for them also.

......AND YES, LAUGHING, JOKING,DRINKING AND EATING IS THE CELABRATION.......AND.... IS WHAT THEY WOULD WANT...

They might even make some kind of exception for the TEES in the fairway........Tim you are a celebration of Love and thank you for your thoughts and being my Brother.

I will not tell....since no interest was shown, other than nasty comments, about my problems from the Cubans and Gringos....

My feeling are truly hurt....The subject would have never been mention again, had you not open up an old wound........

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/22/2007 08:33:07 By David Steger
Billy, you are right the DOOZIE is all about the Fallen Members who are no longer with STAGS.

I personnaly know some of them and I know this event is paying tribute to them and the families of all the years.

I was honored to assist in recognizing one of the members last year, (August 2006) and presenting the family with a street sign and memorial, on behalf of the police department.

All the members in STAGS should be proud of that fact and and to honor those who are no longer with you as a family.

God Bless all the members of STAGS along with the ones who are no longer here with us.

John and Gaston,
Happy Anniversary to you both. While having never met either of your better half, what really amazes at is that there are two good looking,. intelligent women both blessed with such poor eyesight. It's a shame you two did not bring them to the Doozie because Barb and I were really looking forward to meeting them. I hope that next time you will choose to allow them to accompany you and join the festivities.

OK Got it:
From now on I will try my very best to clearly say what I mean so you understand...it may take a special effort but here it is:

Gaston, Billy and Herb:: What? I don't know what any of you are talking about or what you mean.

Steve, Jerry, John, Manny and David along with all the elders are the only ones I understand myself! (the generation gap of only 3-5 years difference must be too much to handle in most cases)...

You guys will have to now deal directly with Donna who will be on your side. I am bringing Donna to help me figure you guys out at the BBQ -she speaks very clear English, laughs a lot,is in great shape, drinks and does not smoke, does not like my humor, is a great party animal, throws a mean horseshoe and is a really good Disco dancer. She says she hates men like me -all I'll need for clarification. (She loves bernaisse sauce, will try anything - even yucca. I will have no problem if you like her better than you do me - usually the case so far!).

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/23/2007 11:53:10 By Tim Yero
The Doozie "Open":

Let's keep this fair and Brotherly. We should allow opinions from all for a while for those who want to express their view (to say 'vote out' for a different opinion is not Brotherly - and could result in very little support, and maybe even none at all.)

I have posted my thoughts and you all know what I think. I may disagree but as a member of the Brotherhood group I will certainly accept the majority wishes with no problem. I am hopeful the event will grow and works out the way the 'majority' thinks it will.

I will also do my part in making it happen the best I am able. I may even get a good friend or two to join us if we decide to make it an open event - (good golfers that do not use tees as much as I do).

So who is voting begin with? - just 3 people who have posted their opinion?

Thirty four years on the 31st, boys.

Just a suggestion. Go down to Mel Fisher's and buy her the most expensive artifact in the store. Lord knows she deserves a medal.

Billy and Miss Vicki,

My heartfelt congratulations on the thitry something anniversary. That, my brother is very strong and I commend you both. Miss Vicki obviously is a very personable, loving and forgiving gal with deep, deep oceans of love for you. Barb and I salute you. You are great people, lucky to have each other, and I only wish our paths had crossed sooner, and that we had not come into your lives at such a late date. But, that being said, I'm so glad we have reconnected., and hopefully will share more good times with you in the future.

Barb just walked in, and asked me to tell you how welcome you made her feel in your home, and to express her gratitude, thanks, and good feelings to you both. Although she is by nature a very private reserved person who is not usually comfortable at group affairs (unlike me. I love a carnival atmosphere) she felt relaxed, unpressured, and most welcome while staying with you at the "Doozie".

Have a wonderful time at the BBQ, and please give my fondest regards to Gaston, John, Manny, Tim and all the brothers. Wish we could be with you.
Much Love,
Steven and Barb

Billster:
Did you say it was "a struggle?" (That's exactly what she said too!)... I'm telling.

Sorry you are sick - Get some honey ( It must be local to have any effect) ... works wonders for allergy...

PS Being sick now is NO excuse - you have a whole week to get up and get going... I will NOT be packing anything but some Jack Daniels and maybe a small keg of Heinekin; carrying a piece along with having to listen to my verbal attributes would be too scarey to handle.

Stay away from Overtown/Liberty City - you are too old and weak now. You can call Gaston if you should need any back-up.

LOL Tim TDT65

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/28/2007 10:54:12 By Adams
Tim

My mini poodle, Mona would be more help in Overtown than Gaston...or...the whole damn class of 68.

Manny will try to talk them to death, Gaston will promise them( bums, crooks & thugs) anything and John will go along with what ever Manny and Gaston said.

Sorry Boys, I've heard rumors for years that your a little lite in your shoes for something like Overtown...better stick with playing golf on the Key.......Oh ....I heard you guys suck at that also.....

Sorry!!!!!!!!!!

Your Loving Brother

Billy Bear

Billy, that is kinda harsh thing to say about the late 60's guys.

Overtown, Liberty City, 36, 46, 54 62, 71, 79 streets, are also bad along with Opa-Locka, Grove and don't forget the south area.

David

Brother Billy , thanks for the kind words about me and the 68 class.......as much respect that we as a whole have for you.....A "MINI POODLE named MONA " ???????? no comment from me after that.....At least you had a gun and a Badge to protect you..poor little me worked 4yrs in Liberty city, overtown and alibbaba as a repo man for banks ,with nothing more than a pad of paper and a pencil......"MINI MONA "must be pretty tough......love you see you sunday....

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/28/2007 05:14:42 By Adams
I have worked all of them David..............I was there for the riots and my partner was killed with a shot gun one Saturday night in Liberty City.........I remember all the prostitutes along Biscayne and 79st and south.....and the list goes on. I got into a big shot out alone one Saturday in the Grove...I chase two jitter Bugs down. They had robbed and killed the liquor store owner across the street from the drug store by the park. Lots of fights and shooting in all those areas every weekend. I Overtown one friday night about 10 of us unloader on a car , blew out everything....Some of the memories are still hard to live with.

Harsh ....not ...just trying to get something started with the boys.....

Gaston

I'm surprised your the only one that I could wake up from 68 class........Whats this respect thing....this has nothing to do with respect...it's just a slam...Harassment. My Brother....You sound like one of those hood boys...."Man give me some respect"... Thats right. People get shot for that now days...Yes Sir, Mr. Gaston....I repect you...as...a follow duffer that carries paper and a pencil...on the golf course. Pencil whipping every body. What did you shoot this past weekend . I havn't seen any chatter about everyones game... I guess, I forgot, people can't tease other people anymore...It's not politically correct is it Punk......at least I can still beat your butt on the golf course and the other 68ers.

I love my Cubans Brothers. They are always ready to fight over nothing..........

Billy , my BROTHER...I can Kick ass on the Links....I have been beating the Big Bad Brothers , and out driving them ....I still have a lot to learn , but now I can tell that they feel me comming after them.......see you sunday.....gastonnnnnnnn

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 08/28/2007 07:43:13 By David Steger
Billy, nothing has changed in any of the areas we talked about. I feel sorry for any white or latin who works any of those areas.

One night on Thanksgiving I was parked at 46 st. and N.W. 29 ave. A b/m ran past me and gun shots rang out. I exited my vehicle and drew down and found my self surrounded my over one hundred black males and females.

Talking about wetting your pants.

That is just one I will always remember. The other was a burglar who when I approached him with my weapon drawn, instead of running away he came after me. Here I am holstering my gun and now have to fight him and handcuff him without back up.

There were many more times, the only thing thank the lord I did not have to kill anyone.

I thank the lord everyday that I am alive today.

More stories to share this Sunday.

David

Tough times don't last, tough people do...
(except maybe on the golf course).

While you guys were dealing with a few bad asses on the home front (which is highly commendable) some of us were fighting against treachery, communism, dictators and a lack luster non-backing of countrymen (both there and here)... Sort of sounds like now! nothing to brag about...

I used to have to walk through Liberty City from a Biscayne Blvd bus stop to get to my Father's store on 7th Avenue - that's when I was 15... so I know what feelings there are as I was 'approached' many times. I guess the 6" bowie knive I carried on my side deterred quite a few (Stupid me)....

I listened to the Sonny Liston/Cassius Clay fight in the store with a bunch of customers - Sonny was sort of a God at the time and no one could believe he went down - quite exciting...

I am glad we are all still here to have some pork and yucca together - (That is if Billy can find Tropical Park!) There were times when I would have bet against being around ...I am glad I lost that bet.

Tim, I guess since the BBQ event is over , we should start TRASH talking the Doozie....Looking at Billy with his Brace and Steve probably out of shape and you not using illegal assistance on the course , we the late 60's guys are ready to teach you all a real lesson....bring it on we are now 12 strong and ready to rumble.....I would love the chance to challange Steve and Billy, since the last time the discarded me aside as if I did not belong in the same league.... you are in for a surprise.... I challenge either one of you to a duel....Gastonnnnnnnnn

Gaston:
As soon as I am done with the avocado's I will start thinking of more ways to live up to the challenge. Lucy and Herb sent me a 40 pound avocado via UPS and I'm still working on that, which is a fulltime job at the moment (Both in eating it and making room for more via the bathroom!)...

I am pleased you are advancing your game and you have the confidence it takes to persist - golf is all about persistence.

I will beat an old subject to death until everyone agrees with the my necessary rules exception - I will not be able to play golf at all, ever, if the ball is not sitting up... I can accept hitting from the sand as a 'penalty' (and you saw how magnificent I was at that)... but grass and hard pan surfaces is a different story.

I am not about to permanently damage myself any more than already exist... it is not worth it.
So, do not count on me to be playing anymore without an official exception from the Gimpy Lord of the Course and his sidekick wannabe.

I am also thinking of being on your team and not on their's (Not that I was in the first place) because they cheat and don't know the real rules of golf.

How's that?

Tim TDT65 (aka 'candy' - but not so sweet)...

Tim, I too have been eating the Basketball size avocado that Herb brought me on monday after the BBQ...finally after spending 3 days feeding the homeless the other leftovers from the BBQ is finally over.......great time, great memories.....we will talk to Big Bear and adjust the rules of the game ......

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/07/2007 09:17:02 By Adams
Tim

Kiss off!............no tees from the fairway or ruff...ruff...ruff.

I have been listening to you whine for approx 9 mos. about your nerves in your neck and you can't swing....you might hurt yourself and you gotta use tees every place.

For your information. I have a plate in my neck, attached to my spine by four (4)screws and 10 months prior to the "Doozie" I had eight(8) holes drilled above and two below the plate. ......as the surgeon said "The pain will never completely go away" ... "you will have to learn to live with it"............I've had two artificial knee replacements and a total of eleven (11) operations on them. I also have two large screws in my (R) foot from reconstruction,(L)foot torn achilles tendon and ligaments..(L) elbow dislocated and will not straighten out. Two dislocated shoulders.....the list goes on ....I think you get my point.....NO TEES...You can be our beer cart GIRL.....I will make sure the boys want be groping you.

......My partner, Steve and I don't cheat....we only use tees where one is suppose to ......... what's next??? You want to play from the ladies tee box?????

I'll see you soon my friend. Tell Donna I enjoyed meeting her ....Bring her to the "Doozie". You'll need all the help you can get.

Please don't go and cut your throat or do something stupid.....it's just a game...and I'm having way to much fun with it.

Love you boy

Billy

"THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/07/2007 10:26:15 By Tim Yero
Billy -
I REALLY DO like the drink cart girl part... She can drive me around so we can skip where you are - you will die of thirst from your usual 30 beers!

The rest of it you can stick in your... whimpy little knee brace. They don't make a brace for what I have - I have to eat the pain (I had an operation too - it did not work it is so bad)... So suck it up and throw that $42,000 brace away... it won't hurt that bad (are you crying or what)?

AND... Enough of bringing all your patio furniture and custom air conditioners everywhere so you can be comfortable and don't sweat like the rest of us.... and enough of all your sissy 'war' stories about all you missing parts - You 'played little boy games' during the 'war' while some of us were out there getting injured for real manly worth while causes ... (For people like you!)...

I know you caused all your own injuries because you are sick... you need rehab... maybe several weeks or months worth. Vicki knows I'm telling the truth. Start today - no time like the present - and quit crying about the little Russian girl that hurt your pinkey or whatever... Be a man...

SO... Wrestle this --- I am going to hit off a tee any time I want to, if I play at all (Probably won't cause I will be too busy setting up the DJ stint). BUT If you don't like it then maybe you should whine to the Kentucky Car King or call your son and bitch about it, not me... he'll kick your butt for me which should not be that hard (I already paid him - he did not charge much).

Hey... I can be on the 'other' (better) team.
I'm on 'their' team now boy cause you did not put me on yours (1966 sucked) in the first place ... So now you will have to watch it - no more chip ins for you (I'm making noises and sneezing during all your backswings)...

What did you have for breakfast anyway??? melba toast and milk?

Hey Gaston - how's that?

Tim TDT65

I truly love all this garbage............We will work out something Timmy...I would never forgive myself if you didn't play.......because of your AX injury to your neck...I forgot your head falls off sometimes...Granted, all of my injuries were strictly P R for the good old USA.

I had wy rice for breakfast.

Billy

Tim

I never knew how cruel you could be ....making me do without beer on the golf course...SHAME ON YOU.......I feel faint already.

I'm sure Gaston ,John and Manny will welcome you to there team with open arms, hugs and kisses.

Thats the good old Cuban way. If they like you, they love you. If they hate you, they kill you.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/07/2007 02:13:39 By Tim Yero
O.K. I have reconsidered ... I am in tears and will have unlimited cold beer for you O.K.??? Now stop the whining - (Has Steve worn off on you or what?... Where's the Billster we all used to know and love?)

AND--- I am highly dissappointed, broken hearted and almost saddened to the point of jumping off the exit bridge to Pt St Lucie knowing you would give up so easy and not fight to the death to keep me on your team. Whats up with that?

Come to think of it, I was not on 'any' team at the first Doozie anyway - (even though I spent millions getting there thinking I was on the Indy Flash and your Southern Canadien area team the whole time till the surprise endings.)

You remember the babies were slightly a pain in everyones butt for months before the actual event (and during at times). As it ended up I shared a cart with a 'real' golfer both days - Gaston... (a gentleman golfer, five star chef and legend pork master... yucca king and god of the rice and beans.) He just may become almost a scratch golfer under my assistance and mentoring and would be a most gracious and welcome partner.

(But, I can be bought cheap - I have bills to pay So, I am staying open to any offers you may present...)

AND... You won't need to be working out any private and illegal non-USGA unsanctioned rules changes between you and Bluegrass man or anyone else regarding the tee I need in the ground at selected times. I am using one regardless so there is no rule. And yes, you can play from the red tees like you really need to - anything that will make it easier for you to gimp around with all the paraphonalia you need is our desire and command. (See how accomodating that is?)

We will be ordering a trailer to hitch to the back of your golf cart so you can take anything you need (Patio furntiture, fans, extra water, gas, pills and bandages, knee braces, generator, a hammer and set of screwdrivers in case any of your pins come loose while you are playing, and a wide screen wireless HD tv... whatever)...

Now, if you REALLY don't want me on your Billster team (boo, hoo) I am certainly not worried about being part of any group in the Stags Brotherhood -I have somewhat more than a bit of experience holding my own in any circumstances and I won't worry as much as they would have to.

U R The Best but you can't fish either...I heard that from really good sources.

LOL Tim TDT65

Herb, Tim, Billy, send me some of the avocado dip or the recipe. God I miss the food, drank to much beer and smoked great cigars. In regards to the golf event I will drive the cart with pretty girl.

David

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/07/2007 02:57:04 By Tim Yero
David - here's the Doozie recipe per Lucy:
Avocado, purple onions diced, lowrey's garlic salt, lemon (or I prefer) lime juice, olive oil.

Pretty simple... pretty awesome.

We are all broke; no money for the drink cart girl, so it's byob. Maybe Billy could use your help loading the golf cart trailer - and getting stuff out every time he needs something.

Gaston and I will be most likely be walking the course because we are real men and don't need a cart. Plus everyone plays so slow having a cart is a waste. (We may option to have caddies so stay tuned)...

Tim TDT65

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/07/2007 05:27:10 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
David , after you have had enough avocado salad , the next day chop up all the leftover salad add a bit of lime, chop up some beefstake tomatos and some Louisiana hot sauce , stir, chill for 1 hr and you then get (guacamole dip) or if you add lots of " HOT SAUCE" you get whackamoly......Tim , we will play together and run the Beer cart and make sure DOC pays for his own 6 pack this time......

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/08/2007 10:16:18 By Adams
David

Tim will be your cart girl. I see where Gaston also volunteered. I hear their real easy...???

I sure am enjoying your chair, David.

Gaston

Put Doc's beer on my tab..........I'll pay you later....???

Tim

I believe in comfort at all times....just keep the girls coming and the beer flowing...The only fighting I do today is with my mini poodle (Mona) or those damn squirrels and both of them bite me...I'm trying to be what you remember.....I cry also...is that a minus too????

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/08/2007 06:11:09 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Billy "BEAR" played today with the Brothers an Shot an #89.... you better be ready I'am comming after you and Steve.......

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/09/2007 12:57:10 By Adams
Gaston

My Brother....if you shot an 89 it had to be from the women's tee box........on a par 58 course.

Who were the witnesses to this miracle round of golf anyway....?????
Please don't say John and Manny......and... did you use tees on every shot, like someone else we know??????

Look forward to seeing you soon my brother ...lets try and set a date so we can play a few rounds.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/09/2007 05:14:43 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Billy BEAR , plenty of witnesses......Brothers and others......wait till we meet next time.....I leave for the Carolinas in October ....if I can find a weekend off before then , I'll drive up to PT.St.Lucie and give you a preview of what you can expect at the next Doozie......by the way it was from the white tees.......I'll let you be the Judge of my improvement.....Chi-Rod Ruiz 00-000

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/10/2007 03:05:59 By Tim Yero
Beer Ruling etc:
Beer will be sold only by the case to avoid any misunderstandings (6 packs are too ez to snatch)!!
(Billy will supply a trailer for the cases if there is room with all the other stuff he needs)

The Doc dilemna: Billy has agreed to pay for everyones beer (See his previous post). Being that Doc stole everyone elses beer and Billy has agreed to pay for Doc's - I think that is what he really meant!

Beer must be drank each time a tee is used - that should make it about even by the 10th hole. (I practiced that rule last time we played - that's why I was forced to only use a tee 3 times extra)...

There SHOULD be no old warm beer allowed. Cold ones only, must be slugged down to avoid DQ for being too warm (Hopefully that is warm beer in the cup)...

You are all very sick... Steve should see these nasty jokes Billy has been sending me... He would end his friendship he would be so aggravated, and incensed with the lack of morality. Everything from slandering the wonderful leading candidate Hillary to making fun of the entire police department (with even a little religious stuff thrown in). You should be ashamed (and please do not forget to send me some more)!

I do not get the whole 'par 58' thing... it was either a executive par 3 course (doubtful, you guys don't know any executives) or it was the front nine score (probably).

Tim TDT65

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/11/2007 09:58:08 By john scopetta
Gus, the strokes you get do count.

Re: "THE DOOZIE" Memorial Golf TournamentPosted at 09/12/2007 08:13:15 By Tim Yero
John:
Strokes count only if you need them - if he does not need any strokes to score less than his handicap then the handicap is a minus.

For example if he has a handicap of 4 (four strokes) and shoots par the whole 18... his score is minus 4.

We won't have to worry about it though - I project Gus will be a scratch player (like you) by the next Doozie. He will be 'giving' strokes out by then and not taking any himself. The pure swing, smooth strokes and deadly putts will make him the chi-rod he wants to be...

(My only wish is to be serious some day)...
