For all you ........single guys...go to it...I went to one with Sylvia Atwood and there was no stopping those aggressive Gables Gals from the younger class's...the girls of the late 60's class's (65 to 69) were starved for affection. Seems as if the studs of those class's were only studs in front of their own mirrors

Jim

As always this should stir up a little

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 04:36:33 By Jerry '65
Excuse Me ! Why "Terrance", and then "Jim" ?! You are correct. The guys from those years are not as "devil may care" as the years earlier. It would be nice to know which of you turkeys posted the message. Or, are you ONE !?

Jerry '65

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 06:00:57 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Jerry, like always Terrence , has way too much time on his hand......those girls that he claims were starved , were probably looking at him and saying ....he looks like our GRANDFATHER be nice to him ....Terry once again you try to make the 60's guys look bad....except most of us didn't even own mirrors.....Am sure you had a house full of them........

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 06:50:29 By Terrence W. Grant
No time on my hands just trying to refocus my attention away from medical problems...and what better way than to challenge the vanity of my friend Gastonnnnnnn...who carried a mirror in his glove compartment according to one unnamed chick....probably one in his pocket as well

the first message was from me...the drugs i'm taking put Jim up a line to high.

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 07:38:42 By Jerry '65
Terry, Jim is on his own high. You don't need to help him "butt" up a line ! Not even "double-butt"! :>)}Jerry '65

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 07:41:54 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Love you Terry, hope things are getting better.....If I didn't care about you ,I wouldn't be picking at you.......give me a call sometime..........Gastonnnnnnnnnnnn

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/25/2008 07:50:13 By Jerry '65
Terry, at least we didn't have to tape a mirror on the toe of our shoe ! And then dance with a woman and try to catch a glimpse of the tornadic
storm ! :>)} Jerry '65

I think Terry's statement is a false perception (by Terry himself). The girls of our era were wonderful, the Flower Girls, mini-skirts, halter tops, Peace and... love children.

We as Stags 'studs' at the time will always be most appreciative to have lived during these times. The girls were never 'starved' for anything (the least being affection) and I trust would not be so now...

We did use the mirrors though; to 'light their fire' - evidently, still burning.

In reference to Terry Grant's message. He was totally truthful. I couldn't even have a conversation with him for all the girls(ladies)trying to get his attention. On another note for that day, he responded to me that I was the oldest girl(lady) that he had ever been out with. With a statement like that, I had to share it with the group. Mostly 1954 and 1955 attendees and they put him to shame. That was the first time I saw him at a loss of words. With all the attention you were getting, I thought I might have to hitch a ride back to Gainesville,Thanks for pulling yourself away from everyone and getting me home safely. Terry I think of you often and have followed your progress, you are in my thoughts and prayers and we all know you are tough enough to fight with all your might.

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/27/2008 10:53:44 By Terrence W. Grant
My Dearest Sylvia...you forgot to mention to this group that I also said you were the best looking one there in that group of the mid 50's. Yes, one of the girls I went with when I was 11 years old and she was the one that had me lost for words and you guys piled on.

I gave Jackie Knighton your number yesterday she will be calling.

Things with me not that good. Everyday different doctor different opinion..Pet scan last Friday, Bone today and CT tomorrow. Cancer cells maybe too small to show up on anything except PSA which should be zero mine is 7

Going back to Johns Hopkins April 15 my 70 birthday...had to cancel a small neighborhood party.

Babe I really appreciate your support on this web site since it's coming from a CLASS LADY maybe someday these kids will understand.

By the way, I want to see you at the reunion. See if that car will make it to the Villages and hitch a ride...or i'll have Birdie call you.

Re: Cavalier Lunch BunchPosted at 03/27/2008 11:23:26 By sylvia.atwood
Terry: There is no way "Baby Green" (my car) could ever make another trip out of town. It is going on 12 yrs.old. and like a lot of us that have mileage, is having some problems. It has been faithful and I have no complaints. I think I will set this one out, but will be thinking of everyone and know it will be a huge success. Keep up the faith and I really am praying for you daily, and I know you can beat this. sa

Nancy McCarthy has graciously arranged a luncheon for the 23rd of April in the Villages.

El Santiago Club
2375 Enrique Drive
Lady Lake, FL 32162 (The Villages)
(352) 750 4002

They have salads and sandwiches ranging from $5.99 to $8.99. They also have a website: www.elsantiagoclub.com but their menu needs updating as not all of the items on the website are completely accurate.

It is suggested you consult Google Earth, a Florida Atlas or local map for exact directions as roads in The Villages are very convoluted.

Please ask everybody to RSVP to namccarthy@earthlink.net - She needs to have the total count by Monday, April 21st in the AM.

Please do not address any replies or questions to John DeMas! I will be in Jamaica and Grand Cayman during that time on a cruise with the Class of 1956, and will have no way to respond to you!

I hope you have a good turn-out and a wonderful time! An updated roster is attached.

Venue: Riverside Crab House, 5297 S. Cherokee Way, Old Homosassa, Florida (1-800 442-2040)

Menu: Specializing in sea food, but also steaks, chops, prime rib, and varied sandwiches or salads. Each party will be billed separately, and an 18% gratuity will be added to the bill.

Basic Directions: I would consult one of the internet map service for specific directions from your location, but here are the basics.

(1) From the North or East, take State Road 44 to Crystal River, then U.S. 19 South through Homosassa Springs to West Yulee Drive (C.R. 490). Follow that West to S. Cherokee Way and the resort.

(2) From the South and West. U.S. 19 to W. Yulee Drive. West as above.

NOTE: BE CAREFUL NOT TO TAKE C.R. 490-A (Hall's River Road) or you will wind up on the wrong side of the river!

IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING TO ATTEND, DISREGARD THE RSVP. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND I WOULD APPRECIATE A HEAD COUNT BY MONDAY 15 JULY 08 TO ENSURE PROPER SERVICE AT THE RESTAURANT. RSVP TO John DeMas jdemas@gate.net .

An update roster is attached, but alas, I misplaced one person's information from Papa Joe's. Gene Vaughn knows who it was, so maybe he can alert the individual. Sorry about that, I'm old and forgetful.

This place is near my house and one of my favorites ... we go there often (Order a 'Monkey Juice' - nice drink.. named for the Monkey Island in view of the retaraunt windows and has about 4-5 monkeys living on it... Have fun if I can't come!).. I am not sure if I can get the time off from work but will try to make it if possible. With the time off for the Stags reunion, I doubt it.
