I know as we get older memories fade but can any of you guys ever remember seeing the Scrap Books prior to 1970.
Any information you can pass on would be appreciated.
I have used every resource available to me over the past few months and have come up empty.
The last person that had the books prior to my graduation was Fred Brubacker.
Has anyone had any contact with Fred?
I don't mean to exagerate the issue but these books are very important, not only to us but to the whole history of our organization.
If you should have any flash backs, (no pun intended) please call or write me with any information that might lead me in the right direction.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/10/2005 07:57:20 By DAVID
HERB, I AM WORKING ON IT AS I WRITE THIS. THERE IS ALOT TO FIND OUT ABOUT FRED. IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION REF. MIDDLE NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, PARENTS, SISTERS, BROTHERS LET ME KNOW.

THERE ARE ALOT OF BRUBAKERS MOSTLY IN PENN. I AM DOING AN AUTOTRAK ON HIM BUT NEED TO NARROW IT DOWN.

I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON MY FINDINGS. YOU KNOW HOW TO REACH ME.

I ALSO SPOKE WITH JOHN TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME VERY NICE GUT. WE KNOW ALOT OF THE SAME PEOPLE. HOPE TO MEET HIM ONE DAY.

TAKE CARE FOR NOW.

DAVID

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/11/2005 10:53:08 By RICKY ARNAIZ
ME, & CARLOS ARE TRYING TO GET THE GABLES YEAR BOOKS FROM 69 TO 71. IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO GET THEM LET US KNOW, OR POST SOME CLASS PICTURES SO WE CAN PRINT THEM. SOME BROTHERS WERE IN THE 4 YEAR PROGRAM AT GABLES SO 1968 WOULD BE FINE TOO.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 03/17/2005 07:15:21 By DAVID
HERB,

I SPOKE WITH JACK LAMB HE WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST ME IN OBTAINING INFO. ON BRUBAKER, AND I DO UNDERSTAND.

I TRIED WITH THE AUTO TRACK SYSTEM AND THERE ARE TOO MANNY BRUBAKERS. MATER OF FACT THE DEPT. GAVE ME HELL FOR USING THE SYSTEM FOR MY OWN PERSONAL USE. THEY TRIED TO GIVE THE CASE TO MY INTERNAL AFFAIRS UNIT TO INVESTIGATE ME, PLUS THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE USAGE.

I WILL KEEP TRYING FOR YOU IN OTHER WAYS.

SORRY I WAS OF NO HELP TO THE STAGS BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

DAVID

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 03/25/2005 07:49:14 By John scopetta 68
In the Yearbook you will find that, Villalta and Bodie have not changed at all, is that a shocker or were they always the Lady's men. Another one that looks the same is Bob Rico hell you would swear he has not changed a bit.

Happy Easter, May the grace of our lord and savior come to all the Stags brothers and sisters and their love ones and friends ....John

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 03/26/2005 05:23:35 By Carlos Villalta

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 03/30/2005 01:29:58 By Carlos Villalta
Bob,Always good to hear from you.I remember Pauline very well,I think we had study hall together when I was in 10th grade. She was a real beauty and she sat near me so I was always looking at her and just dreaming . I was to shy to talk to her beyond a quick hellow and I think I might have written her some silly notes or something. If you talk to her tell her I said hellow and that I'm almost over my shyness.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 03/30/2005 02:05:23 By Herb Stebbins (68)
I agree Carlos. She was stunning and I bet she still is.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/01/2005 07:57:32 By Ricky Arnaiz
Carlos, I don't kmow if you remember Diego, Pepi's brother, well I have a new doctor, & his last name is Saavedra. Can you imaging when we saw each other what our reaction was?. Pepe stop smoking, that's another schocker, he is playing racket ball with Safari, & I think I'm going to join them, after all we played at FSU before any body else in MIAMI knew the game. Let me know if you want to play.
John, by the way I saw Robert Rico's Yearbook picture & He had hair.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/03/2005 12:47:20 By John scopetta 68
Hey Ricky, we played racket ball at FSU before you guys got there, every afternoon in the heat and many times I played with Coach Durum the basketball coach that was nationally ranked in the over thirty-five division. We should all start playing again, I still have my racked???
I see Bob every day???

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/03/2005 02:20:15 By Jim Kavney
Hey, Ricky and John, if you guys get a racket ball game going and need an extra player let me know. It's been twenty years since I played on an outside court. But, I love to give it a try.

Jim

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/03/2005 06:36:23 By Ricky Arnaiz
John & JIm , I would love to play again. Quick update, the sweatbox days are over,& John please get a new raquet, now is only 4 walls with A/C. The only place I know is Miami raquet on bird & 95 ave. If you know of another court let me know. Jim we have to get in shape before playing, otherwise we will never hear the end from John. Boris & I use to play a few years ago, maybe I can recruite him to play with us, even though he hates to loose just like Vidal.
I can't beleave we use to play 4 walls under 100 degrees at FSU, but looking back it was a lot of fun.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/03/2005 07:00:36 By Jim Kavney
Ricky, I think you're right I'll be at the gym first thing in the morning. Get Boris going on it and maybe John and I will partner up against you 70's boys. Of course you'll have to spot us old men a couple of points. ( Don't tell John I put him in the old man category.) Make sure someone bring an extra racket for me to use as it don't seem to be a good investment, until I see it I can survive and game or two.

Jim

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/04/2005 01:25:10 By Carlos Villalta
Rick, nice to hear from you.I run into Diego Saavedra every now and then.He was always a gentleman and bet he's a good Md.

After I quit playing baseball,I started playing tennis just about everyday, took private lessons and got to be pretty good,or so I thought.I was playing with a friend of mine at UM one time and he introduced me to this girl who was on the varsity team(at UM)we played 2 sets and she kicked my ass .Now that was a real lesson!
It seems to me that you either played tennis or you played racket ball.I rarely played racket ball.
As far as Pepi,I last saw him at the 69'reunion at the Biltmore hotel. He looked good and told me
he had quit smoking & drinking.(good for him).

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/05/2005 03:37:26 By Ricky Arnaiz
Jim, don't worry about the raquet, I have an extra one, & it's a newer model than John's 1970 raquet. I will write if I can get somthing going.
About John thinking that He is not getting old, your secret is safe with me.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/05/2005 08:15:01 By Gaston Ruiz ( 1968)
I would love to join you "JOCKS" ,But not my game......Is there a bar in the area???????? Try Arturo Tezanos he was real good at it at Miami Dade......

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/06/2005 07:41:53 By John scopetta 68
Ricky, this Sunday, if the weather is nice lets make a go at it, it should only take us about fifteen minutes anyway before we fall apart. If we get a regular thing going the others will join in the important thing is to have a time and date that is practical. Give us some times available and dates. during the week is fine with me. I live close to the courts.
My racket is a little warped but I don't think that will keep me from kicking your butts.
Gaston, surely we can find a bar nearby. Jim don't be coy, I know your in great shape and can probably play like a pro.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/06/2005 11:37:03 By Jim Kavney
John, I know I can't play like a pro, but I think I can last fifteen minutes, with luck maybe twenty. Let give it a try, sounds like fun. I think Sunday is OK for me.

Jim

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/07/2005 03:26:17 By Ricky Arnaiz
Guy's I'm trying to get some info on Miami Raquet CLUB. MEANWHILE IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF 4 WALL PUBLIC COURT, PLEASE LET US KNOW.JOHN 4 WALLS WITHOUT A/C WOULD HAVE TO BE AT NIGHT, OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT LAST 5 MINUTES, EVEN WITH A/C WE WOULD ONLY LAST 15 MINUTES, & THAT'S PLAYING DOUBLES.
GASTON WE DID NOT FORGET YOU, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGHBALL COURT FOR YOU

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/07/2005 06:41:11 By Gaston Ruiz ( 1968)
Guys , if we are talking 15 min. I can last that long and then find me a bar....Ricky, don't under estimate we old guys....not older guys like Jim....50's guys . don't be fooled by them...I hope that when we are there age we can do the things they do........

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/13/2005 04:11:18 By Carlos Villalta
Pauline, thanks.I wish you lived closer so I could visit you.Sometimes the memories are so clear it doesnt seem so long ago.I really looked forward to those study hall classes ,seing you made my day.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/13/2005 06:00:44 By Gaston Ruiz ( 1968)
Carlos , you sound too muschee for me.....you were in 10th grade like 3yrs ...love you buddy,....are you going to BNO?????

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/14/2005 03:13:32 By Carlos Villalta
Gaston,It's not often that beautiful women say nice things about me ,its usually guys like you who tell me they love me and believe me brother the feeling is mutual. But somehow its not quite the same.So please try and understand my state of mushiness.
Im going to try and make it to bno and give you a great big hug.SEEING you there will make my day.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/14/2005 06:49:25 By Carlos Villalta
Gaston,I forgot to tell you that I have regressed back to the 10th grade and feel very little stress...think I'll stay here a while.

Did you get my e-mail?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/14/2005 09:22:42 By Gaston Ruiz ( 1968)
Carlos, yes I got your e-mail....I'm working on it...

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/21/2005 04:31:45 By RICKY ARNAIZ
CARLOS, IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT AT HOME? YOU SOUND VERY MUSHIE IN GENERAL, & A BIG HUG TO YOU TOO, BROTHER. WE HAVE TO ASK THE OLDER BROTHERS, IF WE GET SENTIMENTAL WITH OLD AGE.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/21/2005 11:14:44 By John Dannelly 1957
From a brother that is almost a generation older than the class of 70-73...

Things do change as you age. Some things are longer and more meaningful and some things are shorter.

Included in the things that are more meaningful are relationships with: God, family, country, friends. Included in the things that are increasing in age for me are: marriage (now approaching 44 years) and friendships with Stag brothers (some now exceeding 54 years).

I am not going to tell you what gets shorter, you will discover that soon enough!

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/22/2005 06:38:45 By Terrence W. Grant
Yes, things do change and you tend to tear up over family and longtime relationships that have existed as well as new found relationships (ie Stag brothers) that were there but unknown...ie my relationship with Gastonnnnn since 2003. For those that know me, I've always acted 25 years old up until Dec2004 and then health issues hit me and now it's a day by day struggle to get thru the day to day BS...I look at the less fortunate and I say but for the Grace of God go I. A good friend and client Jerry Bailey (famous Jockey) just wrote a book (released yesterday) Against All Odds and he tells about his life before and after booze. Go to Jerry Bailey and his sites will come up

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/22/2005 02:32:31 By Carlos Villalta
Rick, all is well at home, thank's for asking and a big hug to you my brother.I hope im not coming across as "mushy" ,im usually very happy.Maybe cause I don't Know any better.I think this may be an oxymoron but im definately a sentimentalist and will avoid tear-jerk movies at all cost.Enjoy watching comodies the most.

Did you go to bno last night? Who went?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/23/2005 10:26:11 By RICKY ARNAIZ
Guys, Thanks for the advice , Carlos we are just pulling your chain, but at least it gives us a chance to shoot the bull, since we are the only Brothers from the 70's that are writting on this Board. It looks like the 71 Board went stale on Nov 2004. We have to wait for the pictures to see who went to bono.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/23/2005 11:03:42 By Carlos Villalta
Rick,U2 was in town?Brother you think between my comodies(comedies)and your bono's(bno), the 70's guys are just sitting back and going for a ride.Let's make an effort and have a strong showing at the next bno.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/24/2005 07:53:49 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
I wish you guys could have been here for me last night, I needed all of you. It was a 50's style party for a friend who turned 50. While I was leaning at the bar talking, I was hit so hard I saw stars (my rear end still stings) by a guy who was paid $100 by my friends son(the son is a marine who lives Japan and was here for the party) and a local chiropracter who is a member of our Country Club, they paid him to hit me so hard I would scream. Now, I didn't know any of the 3 men involved and why they targeted me is a mystery. But NOT one man that I do know did a thing about it. Not even walked over to them and said anything to defend me. I thought if my Stags brothers were here they would have made those guys sorry for hitting a defenseless woman for laughs. I promise you the "men" of the midwest don't hold a candle to any of you. Ya'll spoiled me in junior high and high school, I never had to worry about something like this because you all protected us. Thank you for the security I had growing up, I owe it all to all of you.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/25/2005 10:27:57 By Carlos Villalta
Denice,I hope you are ok.Make sure these cowards pay for what they did to you or they'll do it again. If I or any Stags member would of been there we would have kicked their butts. You are very special to us,please keep us informed.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/25/2005 11:11:31 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Thanks Carlos, if I had friends like ya'll around it probably wouldn't of happened in the first place..they would know better. I was bruised the next day. We called the marine guy, who apologized but he wasn't really sorry until I spoke to his dad. They wouldn't let me speak to his mom so you know he was afraid of what she would say. Tom wrote a letter to the Board of Directors at the Club which they will read Tuesday nite. I am not sure they will do anything because the country clubs here are not like the ones at home, to become a member you just pay your dues...there is nothing exclusive about it. They take anyone who wants to join. But thanks, your message made me feel alot better.
It means alot to me that you care. I guess I am getting more sentimental in my later years.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/25/2005 11:42:31 By Carlos Villalta
Denise,What goes around comes around and they will in time get what's coming to them.I have to be careful in what I write or Gaston & Rick will think im too muchy.Anyhow in this case im sure they'll make an exception.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/25/2005 06:34:52 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
You are so right about coming on home!! The guy who offered the $100 to hit me is a Marine, Special Ops in Okinawa. I would of needed a large piece of farm equipment to run over him. The chiropractor I probably could of taken....he must suffer from a short man's complex. He lives here and his name is Tom Rohrick, I wish I knew his email address you could give him hell. What creep offers $$ to hit a 51yr old woman when she not looking. Doesn't make ME proud of our Marines!I had just got off the phone to the Sheriff's office. The only one culpable is the man who actually hit me and it turns out he's scum that just got out of jail and the police know him well. Thanks for the Co-eds comment. All the clubs were great, we had a blast, didn't we?

DENISE, REPORT HIM TO THE M.P'S OF THE MARINES, ASAP, THERE SPECIAL POLICE AGENCY WILL HANDLE HIM AS WELL.

NOW, YOU FIRST NEED TO FILE A POLICE REPORT WITH THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHO HAS JURISDICTION IN THIS MATTER. DEMAND A POLICE REPORT NO MATTER WHAT THE POLICE TELL YOU. YOU ARE THE VICTIM OF THE A CRIME. HAVE YOUR WITNESSES READY TO GO IF NEEDED.

WAS HE IN A MARINE UNIFORM, WHEN THIS OCCURRED? DO YOU WANT TO PRESS ANY CRIMINAL CHARGES? YOU CAN ALSO PRESS CIVIL CHARGES AS WELL. WAS THE MARINE DRUNK WHEN THIS HAPPENED?. THESE ARE QUESTIONS THE STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE WILL LOOK INTO BEFORE THEY FILE ANY CHARGES.DO NOT SPEAK TO ANYONE ABOUT THIS MATTER OTHER THEN YOUR ATTORNEY.

ONCE YOU GET A POLICE CASE NUMBER, CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT POLICE DEPARTMENT IS HANDLING THIS OFFENSE. I CAN CONTACT THEM AND FIND OUT INFORMATION IF YOU NEED IT.

CAROLS S RIGHT IF THIS WOULD OF HAPPENED IN MIAMI THE GUY WOULD BE IN A HOSPITAL AT LEAST, OR OTHER POSSIBILITIES WHICH I WILL NOT MENTIONED.

YOU CAN E-MAIL ME AT (2STEGERS@BELLSOUTH.NET) FOR MY PHONE NUMBER.

GOOD LUCK

DAVID

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/25/2005 10:07:02 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Terry I live in Scottsbluff Nebraska and you can't imagine how nonchalant the men are about this. I think I know now what it feels like to be black in the south. I am only a woman...what the heck. David, thanks for the information I wondered what the Marines would think but Tom (my husband) was just in here and told me that it would be terrible to besmirch a 13 year career in the marines. He doesn't want me to cause him trouble over this incident. Frankly, I don't agree at all why should I care if they know the truth, but Tom feels it would cause a great deal of problems socially in this town. I have no doubt that it would. The men here would never forgive me for being so uppity. Why should I complain about a being bruised on my body. Honestly? I wish Tom had slugged them. Sorry for the emotional outpour but after the way ya'll raised me to think... I am having a great deal of trouble with this - Denise

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/26/2005 04:10:48 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Hi - Thought I would throw in an update. My husband has gone after this in a big way....much more mature than my solution.(which was Kick their butts)He's working with a lawyer and the police to bring charges and meeting with the Board to hopefully have all of them banned from the club where it happened. Tom and I agree we wish we could retaliate but they could probably go after his medical license or sue. It is a good thing a clearer head prevailed. But I want to thank all of you who also wanted to stick up for me!! I always had you watching my back. Lov ya all Denise - ( I'm mushy.)

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/26/2005 05:48:35 By RICKY ARNAIZ
DENISE, I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR BAD EXPIRIENCE WITH THOSE FAGETS. IN OUR DAYS FOR A $100 DOLLARS YOU WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT THE BIGGEST GUY IN MIAMI HIGH,& TAKE HIM HOME FOR DINNER. I'M NOT AGRESSIVE AT MY AGE, BUT SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT IT FEELS LIKE GETTING HIT BY 210LB, & THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE RIGHT TIME.( I KNOW I DON'T LOOK MY WEIGHT). WE ARE HERE FOR YOU.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 04/27/2005 06:12:00 By DAVID
DENISE, GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE PURSING THE MATTER, BOTH CRIMINAL AND CIVIL. TELL YOUR LAWYER TO SEE ABOUT SUING THE CLUB AS WELL FOR LETTING THIS BIG ASSHOLE IN THE CLUB COMMITTING A BATTERY AND SERVING HIM DRINKS,IF THAT IS THE CASE.

AS A POLICE OFFICER THIS IS A GOOD CASE THEY WAY I HEAR IT. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE CRIMINAL STATUES IN THE CORNHUSKER STATE BUT BELIEVE IT TO BE MUCH BETTER THEN MAIMI-DADE.

GOOD LUCK

DAVID

Thanks Ricky, Tom is not letting it drop, I guess it smarter at this age to take the legal route.
David, no Nebraska is like the 60's in Miami. Very little is done to even DUIs. So I am going to call and find out what is being done. I will email you with the specifics. Thanks!

Rolando, I am very good at killing a thread on this message board. Thanks for reviving it. Pauline, there is no other country club but the Prosecutor is charging all three guys with a hate crime, which is a felony in Nebraska. (i.e. they wouldn't of hit me if I wasn't a female.) Sorry to hear about your back, hope your better quick!

Denise, you girls can pick the next BNO & GNO and we will have a good time....

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/05/2005 09:37:17 By john scopetta 68
Hey Pauline, I don't think I know you from the man on the moon but you must have been hell in high school! Have you been in Tallahassee since college, some of us stayed there for quite a few years, not a bad place. I would love to meet you and personally welcome you to, As The World Turns, part two, Stags reunites.

Those of us that participate in this great web site are always wondering why more people don't join in. Hell, if you got something to say this is the time.

Pauline, please!!! come down and join us for a BNO we can have it at the Biltmore Bar that is always a great place to meet and is soooo expensive that everyone gets home sober. Maybe this year we can go to the 70 class reunion if they are having one. Last year we had a blast at the 69 reunion....Take good care.....John

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/06/2005 10:25:10 By Carlos Villalta
John,I agree we had a sweet time at the 69' reunion. It was actually two reunions ;Stags at the Biltmore Lounge and the rest upstairs ,thou it was fun going back and forth. We had an excellent turn out ,some of us(as you know) are in Pictures of Today Two.

Would love to do it again if the class of 70' has one this year.

John, had you met Pauline ,you might have felt you were the "MAN ON THE MOON".

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/08/2005 07:15:04 By Herb Stebbins (68)
Pauline, if we are talking about the same person, the young lady you are referring to was Manny Garcia's girlfriend. Manny was in the class of 68 TDT. Meg was a year ahead of us (1967) and she went to Palmetto High School. There is alot of history between Meg and Stags and some memorable events that colminated on the Key.
Meg went to work for National Airlines in the mid 70's as a Flight Attendant. Back then they were call stewardesses. She was involved with the "Fly Me" advertising campaign and was on TV for a while. A Gal I used to date still keeps in touch with her.
That's probably more information then you needed. More importantly, how did you like the casserole?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/09/2005 06:40:20 By Herb Stebbins (68)
Gaston, I wish it was more. It used to be 6 or 7 days a month, now it's 4 or 5. When I'm in Miami I hardly have time to do anything but business. I sure miss the BNO's. Hope things are getting back to normal with your family. Say Hello to Linda for me.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/09/2005 06:59:30 By Herb Stebbins (68)
Pauline, I remember the "road to nowhere". Back in the late 60's my father bought a 750 Honda. Perpich and I took it out for a test drive. When we went through 100mph I couldn't tell what was making more noise, the motorcycle or Perpich screaming. Jimmy and I had alot of fun on that bike. Now I drive a old Triumph. Occasionally I will drive that same stretch of road. It's not as much fun without Jim.

Pauline,I was away for a few days but I just dropped in to see, "well you know that KR song".

Rick, good to have have you back,"bro".I don't remember that conversation about Bob Dylan.I was never a big fan, probably cause I could not understand his singing.A little like Stevie Nicks or Van Morrison. My sister was a big fan ,went to some of his concerts and had all of his LP's.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/13/2005 07:11:51 By Carlos Villalta
Pauline,I liked The DOORS ,they were one of my favorites.Jim morrison's voice was very clear in his recordings but not when he was performing live.Dylan,Nicks, and Van Morrison?

Denise, are you coming down for the 4th of july party on Key Biscayne? If so maybe we can get a group together and meet somewhere ,Sonesta Beach Hotel?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 06/27/2005 08:58:46 By Denise D Roussel
No darn it- it seems to cost the same whether we come down in July or January and the family voted to wait. Summer here is so full of parties, weddings, and plans because you need to squeeze it all in just 3 months. The weather can be like a Florida winter so we run out and do everything we can before winter comes again. Why are all the reunions in the summer? Why not a reunion the first week of December. Maybe we should plan a mini one. Just pick a date, time, place and see who shows up?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/08/2005 01:45:30 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Hey Pauline - Sorry summer is busy. I have just (last Night) finished up my pictures for my greatest accomplishment. A calendar of men from Scottsbluff who look like they are posing naked but they really have on little speedos that have been removed with Photoshop. Some digital magic software. I spent a year talking prominent men in this area to do the pictures. It will go to the printer next week and hopefully I will be sending them out in August. Men who aren't in the calendar paid for the printing if I would leave them alone about it! I ordered 1000 and hopefully I can make $15000 for our Humane Society. Hey anyone out there want to order one? It's $17.50 with S&H and 100% of the $$ goes to the puppies and kitties of in our shelter. I know $15K doesn't sound like much but for a poor farming area like ours it's big bucks!

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/09/2005 02:19:21 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Pauline we made a party out of each shoot. Liquor has a way of making these guys much more comfortable and so a good time was had by all. The moment of truth was when I had to hand each one a thong and tell them, Well?? But the shots are done and hopefully I will have calendars in hand by August 1st. The Humane Society is my full time job, its all volunteer. It is not considered one of the "sexy" charities like United Way. So my goal was/is too raise their profile. Well, they will be talking about us now! I wish I had my yearbooks, they got lost somewhere in all my moves. Too bad Tallahassee wasn't so far away. we could whoop it up Aug 6 for Stags Night out.

Herb, save your money you can use one of mine>

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/11/2005 07:51:12 By Herb Stebbins (68)
No Jim, thanks but you may need it. This is how I see this thing going down. Jim, Terry, and Don will be in the first row. (Seniority has privileges) Next will be Ruiz,Scopetta, Silver,Garcia,Ajhar, Abney and me. On the next row will be the "Young Guns" Arnaiz and Villalta. On the top row, I invision John Dannelly(with a Bull Whip) and David Steger in 1/2 is police uniform with his 45 auto in clear view (I mean his Gun).
I have access to a Prop Jet Airplane, so I will pick everyone up including The final judge Pauline and we will fly out to Nebraska for the shoot. I'm sure Denise will pick us up at the airport and supply ground support.
Really, nothing more to do after this but shave and greese up.
Folks, this is the stuff dreams are made of.
ROTFLMAO.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 07:17:45 By DAVID
HERB, WHICH 1/2 WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO WEAR?

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 10:57:06 By Herb Stebbins (68)
David, I better leave that decision to the Ladies.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 11:38:53 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
WOW! throw in some skin, with a little alcohol, the promise of a party and this thread comes alive! After 14 photo shoots, the phototog and I are pros at this. I got some great scenery....LEt's Do It. Of course maybe Pauline and I should go to the Biltmore and we will make it a pool shot.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 12:30:11 By
Denise, you better watch yourself, you and the rest of the girls are coming close to illegal activities.

I as a law enforcement officer have to avoid any type of this activity. If I was one of the guys like Herb participating in this event I would be careful about those photos getting out on the web.

How about this Herb. Fly me I am Herb!

Are the girls going to participate as well?

Did you guys and girls do all this stuff back in the wee old days? If so, I sure missed out on alot.

Carlos, Gaston, Herb, Terry, John and Jim in a thong, this I have to see.

Denise, how is the law suit going with the marine? Why don't you invite him down to meet the gang?

David

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 01:00:04 By Herb Stebbins (68)
"I as a law enforcement officier have to avoid any type of this acitivity".
Thanks for the advise but as an airline pilot this is accepted behavior. LOL

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/12/2005 01:57:09 By DAVID
Herb, great talking to you. Hope to see you at BNO. I still say the girls will think you look good in a thong. As for me I wear the boxers, by the way there back in style.

I am going to go ahead and contact vice so they can stand by for the mini raid (Ha Ha).

OK please let shape up on this thread. I'm getting complaints and I don't like getting complaints.
ALL POSTS must have a name of the person making the post. This of course is just makes good sence and is the right thing to do. You MUST have a valid e-mail reture address. If I have a question about the name being legit and I click on it and it doesn't come up with an e-mail ready to write on, your post is gone.

Please don't force me to delete posts. I got better thing to do then baby sit this website.

Thanks David Steger

Denise and Pauline, I was just joking with Herb. I think it would be an excellent idea to have Stags calendar. I am trying to talk Herb into wearing his purple and white thong he was telling me about, but was not sure he would look good in it.

Girls if you need help in taking the photos I will be glad to assist you. I just hope I can hold the camera without laughing.

Carlos, will you need a ride home or would you like me to pick you up.

On the serious side please be careful if you are driving to and from. The police are getting pressure from the brass to make DUI arrests.

Denise and Pauline looking forward to meeting you. Both of you make this web site great for the guys.

David

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 09:23:56 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
YIKES! What is it about these calendars? No illegal activity here David. In fact ya'll would probably be surprised at how well we covered each guy up. (Except for one very brave lawyer that played cupid) But if you have read in the newspaper about how bad the american farmer is faring....then welcome to western Nebraska. So imagine asking people for $$ when they just want to hold on to a farm that has been in their family generations? This $ is vital in saving the lives of adopted cats and dogs so ya gotta do what you gotta do. Ok I will get off my soapbox now.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 09:26:51 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
I am also doing a 2006 calendar for pets. $15 and a digiital image and you get a calendar with your pet in it! Jim, hopefully this calendar won't cause any complaints, but I have to warn you, the animals are COMPLETELY naked.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 09:58:08 By 2stegers@bellsouth.net
Denise, I will buy a calendar from you. I love pet's. How have you been? Hope to meet you at the BNO in August.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 06:02:31 By Terrence W. Grant
Herb: On your note of 7/11...you said that you would have Jim, Don & myself on the front row "due to seniority"...are you sure that this is your method of measurement in order to sell these calendars...of course in order for me to pose I would have to receive compensation per rules of SAG (Screen Actors Guild)not waistline.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 06:33:44 By Herb Stebbins (68)
Mr. Grant, I'm just big on respect and if a third of the stories I have heard about you are any where close to being accurate then you have to be in the front row. Half the female population of Guatemala can't be wrong!
As for the money...don't worry about that, You'll be worth every penny of it!
Love, Herb

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/13/2005 09:14:11 By dsteger@bellsouth.net
Herb, don't let Terry sucker you in. He just wants to be the center fold of the calendar.

Terry the CGPD has a new Police Chief, came over from MDPD. What I hear from the top brass is they like him.

Do you ever hear from any of the old guys, Bruce Richards, etc.

David

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/14/2005 05:52:00 By Herb Stebbins (68)
David, Mr. Grant is a part of South and Central American history. They don't call him the "Silver Fox" or "Superman" for nothing. Sence this is a Family thread I will leave it at that. Believe me when I say...Denise will sell more calenders with the "Silver Fox" in the front row.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 07/14/2005 07:13:40 By 2stegers@bellsouth.net
Herb, now I understand. I know Terry must be a great guy if he stood up for cops who had personal problems and on the verge of big trouble with their department.

Also, I was able to get that purple and white thong you asked me to get for you to wear. I was a liitle embarrassed at first walking into one of the shops, but I took a female detective with me.

I hope I gut you the right size.

Talk with you later.

Denise,how about "dig-it",turn me on,light my fire,hippie,stoned.You can always ask the original hippie,George Cadenas,or watch some 60's
programs like laugh-in.

PEACE & LOVE,
CV.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 09/09/2005 11:03:05 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Dig it - that's one no one thought of, but I think I pass on "turn me on" stoned or some of the others. I had enough of explaining what certain terms meant when Clinton was president. But thanks guys (and girls) for all your help. Ashley says her friends and her have gone "retro" and are giving some skin and using "nice threads" Janet,I am sending you one of my calendars of the men in Scottsbluff. There is probably at least one "hottie" Hope your address is current -D

Hey Denise, good to read you on the site. In regards to slang words: “Just like Ricky said”: psycodelic” (I wonder what surprised you about that Rick?). The slang words of today are built on technology, like I-pod, bloggers, download, big-fat load, poop-pod…whatever.
In our day we were not technology based. And I am sure people get sick of hearing this (especially because CGSH was so insulated) but our slang was driven by the deep divide in our country about the VN war. The rebellion to which, was Haight-Ashburry, Ohio State, peace, love and a lot of drug related slang; take for instance “far out.” How can you explain that without Rick’s observation: pshycodelic.

We were living a nice life in Coral Gables, and adopted the words of the front line peace-nicks. But we didn’t know any better. Nor, I bet, did most of us care. Slang is generational. What’s next? “Let’s get mom and dad Bio-freezed?”

Hey guys - I received an invitation for Jan 21, 06 for a mini-reunion in Coconut Grove at Oxygen. It is for '60, '70,'71 and I think it would be fabulous if we all attended. I was supposed to be somewhere else, but I plan to be there and then follow thru with my plans the next day. Carlos, Ricky, all the guys from those years What do you think?? The ones on my invite are Tallet sisters but they said invite everyone who graduated from Gables I want to invite...that includes all of ya'll. D

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/17/2005 09:23:50 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Denise, good to see you on the site....been kind of quiet lately....I will contact the late 60's guys .. hope you don't mind us older guys....look forward to seeing you..you mentioned Tallet..Its ok for us JG Boys to show up????

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/18/2005 02:54:22 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Gaston - I am sure they would love to see you. I got an invite in the mail it said I quote " A "mini" Gables Reunion in the classes of '69,'70 & '71 and any other Gables friends you want to invite" So I thought I would invite ya'll. The committee was made up of Terry Kelly ,Julie Emerman , Patty Smalley, Sally Sabayrac and David Wasser. It is at Oxygen near (or in) Mayfair. They do need to know how many people are going so you need to email them. You could email sallylaskey@hotmail.com and let her know. I am still rearranging my trip to be there but I wouldn't miss it

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/19/2005 04:10:30 By Carlos Villalta
Denise,Love to see you and all the rest of the gang ,besides I could always use a little more oxygen.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/21/2005 10:07:04 By RICKY ARNAIZ
Denise, It sounds like a fun plan.

Carlos make sure to take Patty, in case you need mouth to mouth. We might run out of Oxygen.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/21/2005 05:36:19 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Unfortunately, I won't be there, but you should be sure to go. I can't change my plans to Cabo because I have a couple of girlfriends going with me and they weren't too keen on going to Mexico alone the first day. If you need the info just let me know. A ton of Gables alum are going, it will be a blast!

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/21/2005 07:14:10 By RICKY ARNAIZ
If I make it, we will miss you. Thanks for the info.
Love
Ricky

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/21/2005 07:39:04 By pjmcmillan blankenship
Denise...say it isn't so. I'm coming down there to see you! In regards to the girlfriends...'one night in Mexico DOES NOT make a hard woman humble'!!!!

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/25/2005 11:49:44 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
I know Pauline...I was looking forward to seeing you too. But neither one of these girls have been to Mexico and their spanish is non-existent. Maybe there will be another one if this one is a big success. And thanks Ricky...I am looking forward to more mini-reunions.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/26/2005 04:30:36 By Carlos Villalta
Denise,my lovely;what's this?? a bait and switch???

Pauline, good to hear from you again.

P.S love that Bob Dylan music.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/29/2005 01:31:37 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Thanks Carlos! I'll take that as a compliment. I learned a long time ago you can't stiff your friends just because a better offer comes along. Maybe Stags will have something, or maybe I'll come to Miami some weekend and try to have our own mini-reunion. But I think if you all try to make the one in the grove you'll have a great time. The Tallet girls always knew how to have fun.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/29/2005 07:14:23 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Carlos , you are good... Denise, hope some of the guys do go and end up having another of many opportunities to enjoy ourselves......Funny thing happend to me last week ...I go get a hair cut like I have been doing for the past 20 plus years at the same place...sitting across from me on th next chair is ????? David Wasser ... He too has been going there for about 20 plus years ... I had a good time talking to him... I knew him going back to the 9th grade. He mentioned David Weksler , sad to hear he past away...A BUCKS AND Ching Tang , but was almost a Stags......

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 11/30/2005 09:47:48 By Carlos Villalta
Gaston, back at you.I would be interested to go to this Oxygen event but only if Denise,Pauline and or some of the Stags guys would come.

Gaston,I think it might of been Jerry Wexler (1970) who passed away.Check-out the Ching Tang link under(deceased brothers).Maybe you can confirm with David.

Denise - I just tuned into the website and discovered your not coming. I'm so disappointed. I was looking forward to seeing you again especially after having had such a great time with you at the Stags reunion. Have fun in Cabo. We all will miss you.
Hope my Stags brothers show.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 01/19/2006 09:30:12 By lazaro asencio

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 01/30/2006 11:14:17 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
I was thinking of ya'll last Saturday nite. I truly wish I could of been there. How about some details!!! Was it a blast?? I have my fingers crossed that it was so fun someone will plan another one.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 01/31/2006 10:34:53 By Carlos Villalta
Denise, It was great to see all these people, many of whom I hadn't seen since High School.Everybody I spoke with seem to be in great spirits and very happy to be there.I saw and spoke to many of your Tallet sisters as well as JG and Co-Eds ladies and may I say some of these ladies looked simply marvelous.Great fun but you were missed.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/02/2006 07:42:50 By Gaston Ruiz 1968
Denise , we all had a great time ... wish you would have been a part of the wonderfull evening...Carlos ,was the social BUTTERFLY of the group.....

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/03/2006 10:48:11 By Carlos Villalta
Gaston, I've been called a lot of things in my time, but a "social butterfly" ??? What's wrong with friendly, amusing, companiable, cordial, entertaining, gragarious, hospitable, mannerly, pleasurable, polite.Yours are obviously fighting words and so I just may call upon our recently resuscitated brother,Ignacio Pascual,to pay you a visit and straighten you out.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/03/2006 12:36:19 By Gaston Ruiz 1968
Carlos, OK, how about a social Bald Eagle ???( except you have hair )rough and tough....My defenition of a Butterfly...one interested in whimpsical pleasure, unpredictable, playfull, fanciful,,gracious , Smooth, freewheeling and attractive....find me an ugly one or one that is not liked by all....and its not a Moth.....too old to fight

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/03/2006 01:37:08 By RICKY ARNAIZ
OK BOYS, ENOUGH COMPLIMENTS FOR ONE DAY.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/04/2006 10:21:03 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Ricky, I want to throw one in, how about Good Looking, (I noticed Gaston left that one out). Carlos, I am sure everyone was asking how do Carlos and John Scopetta not get old like the rest of us!! All this talk just makes me sad I wasn't there to join in. I miss you guys Denise

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/04/2006 10:29:03 By RICKY ARNAIZ
DENISE, LETS ANALYSE THIS, CARLOS DOSEN'T SMOKE , BUT I THINK HE DRINKS, & SCOPETTA I NOTICE HE STANDS AROUND A LOT, MAYBE HE IS SAVING ENERGY FOR THE FUTURE, & YOU DONT HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. ME I HAVE BEEN TOLD I LOOK BETTER IN DARK AS THE YEARS GO BY.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/05/2006 05:19:18 By RICKY ARNAIZ
You are right,in the dark, mystery person, but if wasn't they, it was a she

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/05/2006 07:40:57 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Ricky, the a. h. is in the dark himself....Not man enough to identify himself.. ... we get people like these all the time..... you look great in dark....Denise , Carlos may be good looking but I just can't see me saying it on the site....its up to you girls to mention it....

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/06/2006 07:19:22 By RICKY ARNAIZ
GASTON, I THINK IF THEY WANT TO WRITE AS A MYSTERY PERSON, THEY SHOULD AT LEAST GO THROUGH HELL NITE.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/07/2006 06:08:28 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Ricky,he would have never made it to hell night.....I would have black balled him and if he is a Brother, we made a mistake......

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/07/2006 07:44:35 By Don H.
He can't spell either!

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/08/2006 03:20:58 By Ricky Arnaiz
GASTON, WHAT I MEANT WAS TO GIVE HIM HELL NITE, BUT NOT TO GET HIM IN, BUT WHO KNOWS MAYBE IS A SHE.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/08/2006 05:30:30 By Carlos Villalta
Hey guys, come on and litten up a little on our mistery person,he might of just forgot to identify himself and now its to late because of the bashing .I know of a couple people who sometimes don't ID themselves but you know who they are by the way they express themselves.I mean this guy obviously thinks well of me and had a good time at the "cowboy movie".
Rick, im sure its not a she because the ladies on this site are very brave and lovely.
However don't underestimate this guy's sense of humor,I think it keeps him looking young and feeling gay.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/08/2006 06:23:35 By Carlos Villalta
As I was saying ,do "LIGHTEN UP" a little.

Carlos, always a nice word for our ladies. That's a sign of intelligence.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/09/2006 03:47:01 By Ricky Arnaiz
Jim, I was not referring to our ladies, but it was very wise of Carlos to take the opportunity to pay them the compliment they deserve. I hope it was not at my expense

After looking at the Oxygen pictures, I wonder if Carlos drove Pablo home for a change.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/15/2006 03:53:05 By Jim Kavney
Ricky, you might be on to something. But after looking at the picture again, I think maybe they both should have shared a cab.

Re: CLASS 70-73Posted at 02/15/2006 07:03:21 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
In defense of my drinking " Brothers" we were all well behaved....Now getting out of the parking lot below ground was a real experience... Left the Club at 11:45....I got out on the road at 12:15 according to my parking ticket....Next Time I won't drive my truck....... A LIMO comes to mind......
