WEB NOTES

From time to time I post pictures and other information on various links. Every once in a while someone is kind enough to send me some old or new pictures. Most of the time I make note of it on the Message Board under some thread or other. This is kinda hit and miss, so I'm going to post on this thread, when I do something on the website I thing you should be award of.

Today I put a couple of pictures of two Brothers from 1952. Harry Mitchell (Deceased) and Carl Carroll. Harry was on our Missing Brothers list. Carl I didn't even know existed, but his ex-wife found our website and e-mail me. She told me about each Brother and gave me Carl phone number. I call him and we talked for 45 minutes or so about Tau Delta Tau and Stags. He was very grateful we have a site and it had several of his old buddies on it with their phone number,s so he could catch up after 50+ years.

You know we got a great thing going there and as we all get older each day we will appreciate it more. So get with the program and participate, use the message board. As of today we had 1,620 visits to our site this month that 108 per day, we had more per day last month. So, I know your there but just not talking to the group, come on break the ice, say something on the message board. Once you do a few times you be back for more.

Enough! When you see this thread "WEB NOTES" on or near the top of the message board check it out. You may see your favorite old buddy, you though was lost forever smiling at you from the website

Finally I was able to post some pictures that I've had for weeks. I had a problem between my computer and the server I up load too. I'm still having problems, the fact that I up graded to windows XP created more problems. I have a few other photos that I hope will be up soon.

I have a problem with "Pictures from Yesterday Page Two" it now blank. I don't know when I'll be able to fix it, I'm heading for Nicaragua tomorrow and I may not have time today to work on it.

Who ever posted on the '68 thread your message has be deleted because you did not identify yourself. Please try not being an ass hole, next time you post use your name and e-mail. If that asking to much of you, please don't post at all.

08/28/07 - - - - - - There is a new link in the left column "Upcoming Events". This was a suggestion from Brother: Paul Acosta '70. If events like the BBQ or a fishing trip is put on a thread when you look for info it maybe buried hundreds of postings back. This way by checking "Upcoming Events" occasionly you can stay up the date.

As you all know we've been having trouble on the Stags web sites for the past few weeks. The server owner we've been using for the past five years decided that he would not be doing that part of the business any longer. This caused me to find another server, which I did. But, the Brother's list and the Message Board being activated by users was not written by me. The fellow I hired to write it five years ago is long gone. I found someone to put the files on the new server, but we couldn't get them to operate on the new server. I went to the techs on the new server and they worked on it for serveral days without luck. I downloaded a new message board and worked on that for days learning the system. The owner of the old server was very helpful all along the way. I finally got the new message board on the new server yesterday and was about to activate it when I got an email from the old server owner asking me how I was doing with the message board. I told him the guy who was helping me abandoned me. And I had no choice but to start over with a new message board and I hated like hell to loose all the messages we've had for five years. I thanked him for all his help over the years and wished him well. An hour later I got another email from him saying he would make room for me on one of his other servers and keep us as his only client. The site was put back on his server and we are back in business. And most important we have our old Message Board back.
I know it was hard on the people who use the message board on a regular basis. I thank you for your patience. There are up-dates that I made to the site over the few weeks that went on the other server that are not on this server. I should able to have the site up to date in a day or so.
