Let me share some facts. The gas companies margin on a gallon of gas is 7 cents, the national average for retailers/business is 6.8. The drug companies run around 26 percent on a dollar. For each gallon of gas the state and federal governments collects about 69 cents. And those a---holes in Washington want to investigate the oil companies and now they are talking about a windfall tax on the gas companies? I haven't heard anything to the effect they propose to give to the money back to the consumer or where it will go.
If the senate does anything they ought to inverstigate themselves. Dean, being so close to D.C., can't you do anything about this?

Brothers and Sisters, I just wanted to bring this "general subject" to the top ! As Brother Don spoke on this thread in April 06, things are way out of proportion ! Hang on to your asses(t)
as best you can, and remember that this is a GLOBAL PROBLEM of controlling the money !!
It is not a political party thing !!!!!!!!!!

I agree with all you guys - especially the non-political part... the problem is not political - it is most certainly caused by people everywhere just having and using too many gas engines...and us having too many gas hog cars (they don't call us Flori-duh for nothin'!):)

Shine up the old bicycle and put some air in the tires... everyone ride one for a month and the prices will fall like a lead balloon!

(and, maybe invest in a big balloon yourself... uses no gas either).

George Bush and his corporate criminal partners are to blame for the fact that gas is higher than as a cats ass, which in combination with his selling off the country a bit at at time. to the highest bidder, and exporting our entire nation's production capability to China has precipitated the economic crisis. we are all having to deal with. This is all happening,in while the oil companies are making record profits, to the tune of billions (while the gov't is deregulating all industries so George and his corporate pals can make even more. These are his financial backers, and the US adventure in Iraq meant to quickly take control of a significant portion of the worlds known oil reserves has been bogged down in a bloody civil war, a war of attrition, yhat has strai ned this country's resources to the max.. Get real, it's not political, it's corporate,.

Before you dismiss me as an Obama fanatic, let me tell you, I'm apolitical . But, I will go on record as choosing change over the same old shit of the last administration, one which I think will go down as the worst presidency ever.

PS Has anyone but me noticed that as the election nears, gas is mysteriously getting cheaper.

What a surprise, guess 111what's going to happen after the election???

Much Love,
Aggie

Steve: In case you do not know this - your post comments were political in nature which we said we would not do.. your comments are all wrong anyway, so will be ingnored by those of us who ignore the news media propaganda you obviously have bought into.
