Stags SweetheartsPosted at 06/28/2003 07:08:05 By Ivan Lopez 65-66
To all the women: NEVER DOUBT WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT YOU CAN DO!!!!Anything is possible!!!

A Strong Woman vs. a Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape. but a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything, but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future . a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face but a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey, but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Pass this along to a GREAT WOMAN.

I can handle anything that life throws at me . I may not be able to handle it well, or correctly, or gracefully, or with finesse or expediently, but I will handle it.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance!

Cheers, Ivan

Nice...spoken like a man who is married to a gal from Managua who has both sides of the equation..and is very intelligent in wanting to dance with this old old old man.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/06/2003 10:21:20 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Jim Kavney called me and asked me to call all the Sweethearts and sponsors on the website list and encourage them to be there in August. So if I couldn't speak to you in person and you see this on the message board, please make the effort to be there Aug 8 & 9. And guys, help me out here and leave a message for the girls and let them know that you really want them there. Denise

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/06/2003 11:43:28 By john scopetta 67-68
Denise, before Gaston reads this thread and calls all the girls I will volunteer to call them and make sure they attend the reunion. I have a picture of your fish 166 was correct see yaw for cocktail's ... john

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/07/2003 01:29:29 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Your on! I called the first five on the list and got recordings and Betsi Bond's fax (so I emailed her)I would appreciate it and I am sure they would love to hear from you! Let Jim Kavney know what you find out - and I want to see my fish! Denise

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/07/2003 02:57:14 By Ginger Perkins
Hi! Just to let you know that Betsi can't come...but that Ginger (1969) is coming, as is Carol Beebe (1970) and Pam Holmes (1971).

I know that Janet Eaton, Pam Porter and Cielo Gibson are coming too. See you all there!

Ginger

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/07/2003 11:42:48 By john scopetta 67-68
Ginger, we know that everyone is going to make a mad rush for the door at the last minute talk about a great opportunity to be surrounded by so many men with so little time is like being the star of a reality show. This is a chance to be worshiped by your peers and be a princess for one weekend. If you really analyze the situation how can you say no??? The cream of the crop of boys from high hchools in our area pouring themselves out to impress you, man is a slam dunk deal.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/08/2003 07:39:03 By Ginger Perkins Watters
John...all I need to do is forward your message to all the girls and they'll come flying!

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/08/2003 12:58:05 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
WOW John great message, now we'll be counting the days! Denise

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/08/2003 07:38:08 By Gaston Ruiz 1968
Just to let you all know I 'am still responsible for the safety and good times of our sweethearts and sponsor. John don't try to worm in on my responsibility as a good brother. Ginger don't be nice to John ..

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/08/2003 11:22:28 By john scopetta 67-68
Hey sweethearts, anything new on Jeran, or Ruth? Are we giving up on having the all the sponsors from the late 60's attending? Do not pay any attention to Gaston. He is a control freak. Involved in all those funny games boys and girls play....John

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/09/2003 02:20:10 By Ginger Perkins
I think it was Cielo who told me that Ruth plans to come by the Biltmore during the day on Saturday. I don't have a clue where Jeran is...Janet, weren't you and Gaston looking for her?

And...I think that your party on the 11th will be DISMAL without your girls.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/09/2003 10:52:19 By janet eaton
when i see the pictures of terry's wife and gonzalo's wife i can understand why some of us are questioning why we should show our 53 year old faces and bodies to the boys we knew when we were 18, beautiful and our boobs were not sagging and our face didn't have brown spots on it! Heck, I'm coming anyway. I have tried and tried to find Jeran. no luck. i think ruthie is coming by on saturday afternoon to see us girls.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/09/2003 11:00:44 By Gaston Ruiz 1968
Janet, don't forget we are also in our 50's and we see past that. no matter how many years have passed you all are still beautiful in our eyes. we want to see you for old times no matter what .

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/10/2003 00:46:52 By john scopetta 67-68
Gaston is in his fifties I am celebrating being a bit over 39,the fourteenth anniversary of that date to be exact!!! If we have done something the past few weeks is demonstrate that we have gotten older but we have not changed, not just our group but the whole Stags brotherhood has stepped forward and shown a passion and love for the purple and white and what being Stags material stood for. The years we enjoyed and the friendships that evolved and the experiences we shared will live with us for all time. God bless America and the members of the organization known as Stags. their sweethearts and sponsors.
And also Nelson, who is finding his way here from Puerto Rico, to dispel all the rumors that he started all the fights at PAL.....John

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 07/15/2003 06:17:20 By janet eaton
add jeran mcclain on to the list of 68 sponsors. We found her and she's coming! that makes every sponsor from 68 present. to the other, TOP THAT!

To you girls of the 60's. You can only worry about facing this group when you're 63, as I am not 53.
Look forward to meeting you all.

P.S. Kay, thanks for all your hard work putting this reunion together. Your the best.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/11/2003 08:03:07 By Gaston Ruiz 1968
Seeing all of you together was such a great feeling. I 'am so proud of you all. You were and still are the most beautiful women in the world . Its easy to see what great taste for women the Stags Brothers had from day one. It is an HONOR for me to proudly say you are the biggest assets we could have ever had associated with this organization. Thank you for being a part of our lives.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/12/2003 09:30:09 By Denise DeBerard Roussel

woke up at home and wondered if all the miraculous magic i had sensed and felt this past weekend was only imagination gone wild, then i emptied the last suitcase (and as the songstress sings) "there was still stardust on my sleeves".

what a glorious and momentous occasion! Thanks again, all you organizers and supporters and everyone who joined in...Let's do it again!!!

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/17/2003 11:10:52 By Don H.
It was absolutly amazing that brothers from as far back as 1947 ( charter members ) came to the reunion-Joe Byrd, Ray Kaylor, Pawley, John Summers,...and that Ralph T. still has Ray K. president's pin.I think one would be putting their life on the line to try and take that pin away from Ralph. Jack, I'm with you, when is the next time?

Denise,The pictures we took came out very dark, either the flash didn't work or maybe the cocktails did. Good luck on your Fourth.
Jeanie, It was great to spend a few minutes talking to you.
Love

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/28/2003 04:54:22 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Rick - I look alot better in the dark anyway!! Those shadowy pictures are my best look! I've been reading all about John Scopetta and Gaston and their wives celebrating 25th anniversaries....I hate to think how old I would have to be when my fourth and I would be married that long...yikes - Lov ya Denise

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/28/2003 06:15:01 By Rick Arnaiz 1971
Denise
Please celebrate by the month not by the year, I know is not you, but the company you've kept." By the way is better to look good than to feel good, and you look MARVELOUS."

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 08/28/2003 07:48:03 By john scopetta 67-68
Denise, you have to add all of the years you have been married and and multiply times one, thats what it feels like being with only one person all those years. It can get a little slow sometimes. The late night E mails help....John

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 09/02/2003 09:57:33 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Ricky thanks for the compliment. 50 year old women savor these. As I sit here in my overalls after feeding the horses, it sounds particularly good. And John, being married four times is certainly interesting but I wouldn't recommend it. Better to be married to your best friend. I think I will count the months, (had to take out the calculator for that one)85 moinths hey Ricky that does sound better! Love you guys - Denise

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 09/06/2003 10:46:40 By john scopetta 68
Denise, you can not be fifty I would say 34 at the most. Did you read on Key Rat chat about Lee Hegamayer? very sad!!!

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 09/10/2003 09:57:35 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
Thanks John!! I love it!! I'll take 34 but the aches in my body and joints tell me I'm much older. All those years I thought exercise was good for you are killing me now. Yes, I heard about Lee how sad for her husband and daughters. Thank goodness both of the daughters live close enough to help him out. I hope the Key has another reunion next year at the Beach Club after the 4th of July parade. If you hear anything will you let me know?

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 01/11/2004 10:28:43 By john scopetta
Denise, I was up at Jensen Beach visiting some friends on Christmas Day and after exiting I 95 was greeted by a giant billboard of your brother advertising his practice. I inquired with my local friends to see if they knew of him and they said he was a big player in the area. Tell him, he makes us all very proud with his success and I wish him the best for the coming year.....John

Hi Genie:

Welcome and on behalf of the guys of the 50's we would like you to go fishing with us to Belize in June....It seems the guys of the 64 65 66 can't handle the pressure and/or are unable to commit.

Terry

Terry, you all don't have to worry about the guys from 64-65-66, its the guys from 68-69-70 that will be kicking your butts.....John says that there is an age limit on the plane...adding special medical equipment is to expensive to bring along.....to take care of the old and aging Brothers OO-OOO

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 03/07/2004 09:04:00 By Terrence W. Grant
Gaston..about the flight...the only special equipment that would be needed would be a BS detection device to use on those of the 60's...of course it would come in two languages so that you can't try to circumvent the issue "about the one that got away"

YOU STILL CAN SPELL........

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 03/16/2004 09:21:07 By Ivan Lopez

I have long contended there are male jokes and there are female jokes. And
there are unisex jokes. Here is a joke I consider a true female joke. I
offer it to you in the hopes that women will love it and men will pass it
along to a woman who will also love it.........

A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an afterwork cocktail with her
girlfriends when an exceptionally tall, handsome, extremely sexy middle-aged
man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off
him.

The young-at-heart man noticed her overly attentive stare and walked
directly toward her (as all men will). Before she could offer her apologies
for so rudely staring, he leaned over and whispered to her, "I'll do
anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky,
for $20.00......on one condition." (There are always conditions)

Flabbergasted, the woman asked what the condition was. The man replied, "You
have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words." (Controlling
huh?)

The woman considered his proposition for a moment, and then slowly removed a
$20 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with
her address. She looked deeply into his eyes, and slowly and meaningfully
said....

"Clean my house."

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 03/16/2004 10:33:47 By Denise DeBerard Roussel
No Ricky, I am still here. I thought I had killed a few threads on the message board so maybe I should stay off of them for a while! I talk to Bobby Ajhar now realtime. If you haven't given him a call yet, you should. We didn't really know each other in H.S. but it is fun reminscing old times with him.
Ivan - Excellent joke, Dr. Phil says that is on the top 10 list for showing a women that you love her. I'll find a good one for guys and post it here.

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 12/15/2006 01:51:55 By Ivan Lopez
TO THE LADIES WHO READ ALL THE $%^$&3@&$%& WE MEN PUT ON THESE THREAD'S

I WISH YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE REST YOU CAN READ.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 12/15/2006 01:57:51 By Ivan Lopez
Sorry I forgot to indentify my source of
information above post. From an old a dear friend of my airline family Andy Rooney from CBS. Be safe, cheers Ivan

Re: Stags SweetheartsPosted at 12/15/2006 02:30:10 By Tim Yero
I think Andy Rooney is close to 90 years old. At my age I can still refuse to adhere to his rhetoric about how great older women are compared to the younger ones.

My own truth has prooven there is no age barrier. Women are women. As the eb and flow of our society observes what we think are 'new' things - they are not new at all. We've all been around for years - some of us just a little longer than others. Older ones are supposed to know "more" but they are still women.

Women and men will always be what they are;

Not that I subscribe to that theory, but its more thought provoking than "hats" vs. "caps" @@ @@@
