Jim:

Please add my name to the list of attendees for the Friday night event. I figure that each of you guys received an invitation to pledge Stags that was signed by me; that I owe it to you to attend.

I might add that for $60 a person one should get more than lite hor dogs on a stick. The class of 56' for $20 less you got a full buffet plus a great show.

To entice other brothers to attend they might follow my lead....I say this very frigging time but no one does it go inhto www.priceline.com and hit Coral Gables/Coconut Grove...select your star level 3 star and select own price and put in $49 a night. I just got cfm for the HYatt Regency which is 4 star for $49 a night. Guys I've stayed there many times at it is a 5 star hotel.

Dawn and I are looking forward to seeing as many brothers as possible............sign up you stiffs

Commodore,
I still have that letter, and judging by the spelling I thought it was an invitation from some outfit at Miami High.

We have another Stag Brother going to the Class of '57, 50th Year Reunion.

Jim:

I've sent my check in for Dawn and I for Friday night. Please make sure that we are included in STAGS table if this frigging overpriced event has tables. Leave it to the class of 57 to dish this off to some outfit in Boca Raton who charges an arm and a leg.......some of my old girl friends had better be there and they better be good looking cause I sure didnt hold my looks but as Tormey says I'm still chisled.

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 04/05/2007 05:38:02 By Terrence W. Grant
Don and yea my spelling hasnt improved one bit thanks to the education system of CG and University of Miami...maybe it's me

None of my business Commadore, being only a youngster in the presence of "The Ancients", but are your sure you mean chisled and not chincy, or chinky ? Just 'cause you love it.. ...Off for a month for R & R. See you on the other side.
Jerry '65

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 04/06/2007 06:48:11 By Terrence W. Grant
Thanks Jerry...OK I'll do it in reverse...great looking guy but a little wrinkled...not Chincy (but we do have some brothers that never reach for that wallet) Chinky...yea I was rushed by them but I knew I couldnt afford their dress standards so I went with a t shirt and jeans frat.

Jim:

According to your printed sked this thing is 8pm to 11pm on Friday night. Should we meet somewhere earlier for group dinner or something. We will be checking into Miami around 1pm on Friday. If this thing is a cash bar what is one getting for $60 a person.

Terry '56 (the better value class)

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/19/2007 04:45:08 By Jim Kavney
Terry, I think it would be a good idea to get together for dinner Friday. I don't know but my guess is we won't get much for the $60. I'm planning to be at the hotel around 3 PM to help with the setting up of the hospitality room. I can be reached at my home or cell number. 305 664-2881 home or 305 393-2732 cell.

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/21/2007 02:59:26 By Terrence W. Grant
Jim the sign up sheet on CGHS Reunion doesnt match your list of Stags...what Stags for sure at least a number...where would be a good place to have casual dinner if we can find these guys who are going.

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/21/2007 05:46:38 By Jim Kavney
Terry, the list of people going on the gables57.com web site has not been up dated. I'm trying to get more info, but for the past week I've been under the weather. Things are looking up a little today. I post an up date for Stags when I can. John Slaton e-mail me and said he will not be making it. That's all I know at this point.

Well live and learn...there are 4 TDT's signed up for the 1957 reunion. I was thinking there would be at least 12 so I made a reservation to see the guys even though I didnt graduate that class. If any of you guys talk to any '57 guys tell them to get their butt to the reunion at least Friday night.

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 04:52:36 By Jim Kavney
Stags will have a good representation at the '57 reunion. I haven't been able to touch all the bases yet but no one should be disappointed.

We should try getting together for something to eat before 8:00 Friday. Any ideas?? We can touch base with each other via cell phones on Friday or plan in advance and try to set a time and place??

Again Any Ideas??

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 06:58:48 By Terrence W. Grant
Well first off we will be in casual attire. Don (smart dude and listened to me about priceline )and I are staying in the Gables. The younger guys like Monty's but I dont think that good and overpriced. I thinking of fish for Jim (he's used to buying his fish anyway)

There is the Chart House ( I believe is the name) that is just a few blocks south of Monty on the water in the Grove. I've eaten their several times.

There are dozens of place on Mircle Mile but expensive........we can go South to Captains Tavern or even Shorty's.

Some of you guys are slow to reach into your pocket so bring a credit card or cash in small bills...don't plan on old Terry being stuck with the tab. I'm paying enough for this "reunion" comes to $40 an hour...hell I could help Gastonnn look for that Cuban Pig for that money.

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 07:09:47 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Terry, the Chart House, is over priced and not as good as it used to be , Monty's if you eat outside by the dock the prices are still reasonable the menu is limited to finger food..Captains Tavern is good , but also over priced for what you really get...

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 07:28:38 By Terrence W. Grant
Gus give us a few ideas...casual

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 10:13:16 By Gaston Ruiz (1968)
Terry, there is Senor Frog and Mr. Moes...Mr.Moes has good food and reasonable , off main Hway and commodore plaza , side street around the area of the coconut grove playhouse.....lounge type of place good pork sandwiches......

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/25/2007 11:43:09 By Terrence W. Grant
Mr. Moe's sounds good and Larry and Curly ( Jim & Don) will probably be with me

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/26/2007 10:01:55 By Don H.
Larry and Curley will be there. Kay will join us also. Commodore, kiss my grits!

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/26/2007 10:23:00 By Terrence W. Grant
Jim arent you bringing Ann...both Dawn and I would like to see her

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/26/2007 12:12:59 By Jim Kavney
Yes, Anne will be with me. One of the biggest problems in Coconut Grove is the parking. It's very hard to find and mucho dinero. I'm going to be a the Sonesta around 3-3:30 and can walk to Senor Frog or whatever. I just talked to Kay and she said the Sonesta has a dinning room, but no coffee shop. I just called the Sonesta Dinning room and they do take reservations. So, it we want to eat there, said at 6:30, I can reserve some tables. This way we are not all over the place looking for parking etc. If we want to go to Senor Frogs we could walk from the hotel. I think most of us could make it, it's less then a mile.

Let me know your pleasure?

Jim

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/26/2007 05:53:44 By Terrence W. Grant
I'm trying to picture McFarland and I cant remember whats it near? personally I rather take that stroll in the grove than eat at a hotel...but who am I...guys we dont have to eat in the Grove I'll let you all deceide

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/28/2007 02:22:44 By Jim Kavney
McFarland connects Main Highway and South Bayshore Drive, it a little short block that borders Peacock Park. Just map quest 2889 McFarland Road, Coconut Grove, FL. 33133.
You'll see!

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/30/2007 07:49:26 By Jim Kavney
For all you guys coming to the reunion that have not paid up frontand will be paying at the door. Bring CASH, they will NOT accept checks or credit cards. This is not the policy of the class of '57, but the outfit that will manage the reunion.

Jim

Re: Class of '57 50th ReunionPosted at 05/30/2007 08:56:46 By Terrence W. Grant
Where did the class of 57 find these guys...56 did 4 days on their own without these creeps. You can bet the Commodore is going to get his $40 per hour worth=$120 even if he has to lift a few towels
